Had no complaints. Within walking distance to many things, but not on the main drag, which we preferred.

Great family oriented resort located in the middle of prime location Waikiki beachfront. Convinient location central to all the major restaurants and shopping in Waikiki, nice rooms, solid service from staff and all the essentials needed for the average family on a Hawaii holiday. Also rooms are more modern and better kept up than the neighboring Moana Surfrider hotel. Strong recommendations.

If you didn’t get up at 5:30 in the morning and start reserving your seat at the pool area, good luck trying to find a spot to relax pool side. Also people that would set items on the pool chairs very early went to the beach and showed up at the pool hours later which is really unfair. I did not like this place very much. Staff looked angry like they did not want to be there. Signs showed unattended pool chairs would be cleared of items left on them but they would be there for hours on end with no one doing anything to give other people a chance to sit pool side. People running around in the hallways being loud with no regards off people sleeping late at night. Not the relaxing place I was expecting. Island was great and tours were great but this place not so much. Not worth the money I spent.

Halekulani is, without question, one of the most special places I’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a level of service that felt warm, personal, and truly refined. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and cared for, with an ease and professionalism that never felt forced. Our room was peaceful and beautifully appointed, with a lanai that offered sweeping ocean views and the kind of stillness that instantly puts you at ease. The attention to detail—from the crisp linens to the fresh flowers—was impeccable. The pool area is simply stunning, and it’s clear the hotel is maintained with a great deal of pride and care. The overall atmosphere throughout the property is serene and elegant—a true escape from the bustle of Waikiki, while still being perfectly located. This is not just a hotel, it’s an experience. If you’re looking for timeless, understated luxury and genuine hospitality, Halekulani delivers in every way. We left feeling deeply rested and already dreaming about our return.

Great property, breakfast was excellent!

Very good experience. Very clean, staff was excellent. If you want to lay by the pool be prepared to get your lounge chair before 10 am. People place their items and leave for several hours and it is not monitored very well. We learned this on our second day. Also they have a lot of activities in the hotel but unfortunately they don’t follow their own schedule given to guests. We went to several activities that either weren’t happening or had been changed. It was very frustrating to say the least. Outside there is no public toilets at the beach across the street so there are several homeless using the wall as a full restroom. We went back to the pool as a result and that is when we learned about the pool issue since we didn’t start there. Also you are charged a resort fee for items that you either don’t use or are informed are first come first serve at a local vendor. Which makes you wonder if they don’t have enough for everyone how can they charge everyone the same fee? It was better than most. The walls are paper thin but the staff is very helpful and the view is awesome. This has such potential. I’d be willing to give it another try due to location and staff but there are still several flaws.

I had the best 40th birthday a girl could ask for!!

The property was beautiful clean and plenty of towels ect. But didnt have toilet brushes. We needed more bin holders we where only given 2 for 10 days with kids. And a broom. Or..dust pan and brush to pick up fine stuff, sand in the toilets or kitchen area. A few more Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Salt and Pepper ingredients wouldnt go astray. Its is a lovely big lounge area to feel homely. Just need a bit more for thought...in the kitchen, save buying it. We ended up buying them.and donated them the young guy on the front desk...family man with 4 kids. And gave him a nice tip, for his help planning our way around the city, ubers calls...ect. Our plane arrived at 11.30 so we got in a 2.30 early...4.00 checks seems the norm...but if the room is ready...it shouldnt be a issue..a quick message and we where in. It made our day run more smoothly...sitting around in foyer waiting to get in...was hard. So the front desk allowed us to go into the pool...which we where eternal grateful for. The convenience of being near a major shopping center was great...quick dinner in food courts, made the family life easier for all. Waikiki was too busy for me...but each to there own. Rooms are spacious and views lovely...no need for Air Conditioning that high up.
