A bit dated and worn (threadbare armchairs), belying the photos online, with a very minimally equipped kitchen (great microwave with crisping feature though!). But, the front desk and housekeeping staff were very responsive and quickly fixed any deficiencies. We were disappointed to find out on arrival that the AC was out of order (a long-standing problem about which we could have been notified to allow a decision to relocate), however a fan was provided, and with a balcony door and windows that opened the room temperature was comfortable. Location was great - a half hour walk to the Viaduct Quay and Ferry Terminal in one direction, and the Auckland Domain in the other, with a huge selection of shops and restaurants along both routes. Overall: clean, safe, very spacious room, conveniently located, and excellent value for the price. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Looking for a unique stay with friendly staff? This stay was one of the best in New Zealand and Ponsonby is a great area.

Nice modern hotel but a little on the pricey side as it likely caters to the casino crowd. A bit of walk to other restaurants and shopping but otherwise pretty convenient. Excellent hotel for those looking for a lot to do in the immediate area as the casino draws people to the area.
