The property was well located within walking distance to the lake at Bowness. The room was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The free breakfast was excellent with the best choice we had ever seen. The staff were amazing, being so attentive and engaging.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Ambleside Salutation Hotel in the Lake District, and I genuinely cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect – the kind of stay that leaves you wanting to come back even before you've checked out! The Location: Absolutely unbeatable. Nestled right in the heart of Ambleside, the hotel is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Our room overlooked a gorgeous waterfall, and waking up to the soothing sound of flowing water and a view of the hills was pure magic. It felt like a peaceful, luxurious escape wrapped in nature. The Room: Wow – our room was massive! Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and designed for real comfort. It had everything we needed and more. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the little touches made a big difference. Honestly one of the best hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. The Staff: Every single member of staff we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. From check-in to check-out, we were made to feel at home and very well looked after. It’s clear they truly care about their guests. The Breakfast: Delicious! A fantastic spread with something for everyone – fresh, hot, and generous. The property was lovely but in the middle renovations which we were not warned of when booking. We were informed on arrival that there is a £10 charge per person £20 on weekends for use of spa including the swimming pool which was very small and steam room, we are used to paying for treatments but swimming and sauna are usually included in our initial charge, it was not clear on booking that this is how it works. Breakfast was ok but not great with poor selection on both buffet and cooked breakfasts.

Excellent hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful staff. It is our second time at this lovely hotel and will definately be back
