Very nice location. The room was really clean and modern. Here are some points of attention: minnibar conso are displayed on the TV, so if you do not switch it on, you don't know if the items displayed are free, or not. Also, the fitness and spa area are only accessible by reservation.

Perfect stay. Beautiful historic hotel

We stayed for 5 nights for a small holiday in Stockholm. On arrival it was a really nice location by the water and adjoined to on of Stockholm's many national parks. The hotel felt smart and sleek. You were well looked after by staff if you needed anything. We were English speaking and that wasn't an issue. Breakfast was well thought out. A good selection of hot and cold options, bread station, coffee, juice and pastries. The only issues we had were we were travelling as three with our young daughter. We had to ask each day for towels for the room as it was made up for two each time. We also after booking were told there was on additional cost of roughly £30 per night for a bed for my daughter to have her own bed set in the room. That may not have been the properties fault and the issue might of lied with hotels.com. we did search as a family of three and everywhere we've stayed in the past you would always have a separate bed for your child to sleep inclusive in your booking price. We did make this clear to the hotel but this was their policy and additional charge for a bed for your child. I think having known that beforehand we would have chosen somewhere else to stay as to us it's a hidden upsell cost that's unfair and unclear to the guest. Again this issue could lie with hotels.com or the hotel depending on how they advertise it to potential customers. We did have a lovely stay and holiday though. And located nicely out of the bustle of the city.

A very nice property, at a best location… mismanaged, unfortunately.

I stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago and returned this August. It recently completed a full-scale renovation which made the lobby, bar and rooms look much more aligned with modern aesthetic standards. The location is good for those who want to be near to the station for easy access to the Arlanda Express and an easy walk to Gamla Stan and other parts of the city worthy of exploration. The reason for my two star rating is that the room was horribly uncomfortable. Like most hotels in the city, there is not a proper AC system despite the rising temperatures in Stockholm (poor planning for a new renovation). The city was hot and humid and the air circulation system just circulated hot and humid air. The window didn’t open more than a few centimeters so that was not an option during cooler evenings. The system never cooled even close to the temperature it was set to. I did raise this with the staff who sent a mechanic to look at the system but ultimately did nothing. Further, the hotel does not have summer bedding, so was stuck trying to sleep under a massive winter comforter. The pillows were flatter than a sheet of paper. I stayed for 3 nights and slept a total of 11 hours during my stay. I was so happy to leave.

We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay at the Nobis Hotel. Everyone was extremely helpful and professional. Would highly recommend it to travelers to Stockholm.

I was very impressed with my stay at the Hotel Birger Jarl. The actual hotel was beautiful and immaculate, the staff were so very friendly and always happy to help with anything at all. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed....oh my goodness the bed! So comfortable and the pillows and comforter were like sleeping on a cloud. The location was very convenient, walking distance to basically anything you would need - restaurants, bars, shops, public transport. The hotel itself was very quiet, you never had to worry about being kept up all night by the people in the neighboring rooms. The breakfast buffet was amazing, but remember to get there early if you don't want to worry about there being a lot of people. So many great options, and as a vegetarian it is always a concern, but they absolutely cater to vegetarian and vegans so that is a definite bonus. I would never stay anywhere else if I were visiting Stockholm. Thank you for an amazing experience!

European ‘cozy’ (very small, no space on side of bed so one person had to crawl over the other to get out). But staff was very helpful in arranging a late night arrival for us & were pleasant when we checked in with them in the morning. Amazing location, very easy to get to the sights walking.

The location and clean room were excellent! Our only issue was that the communication with the staff is difficult as it was all through the Expedia app and the messaging platform there is not well designed.
