Venetian Riviera Kid friendly Vacations

Lack of heating. Front desk said it is Italian law that heat cannot be used until November 1. I find that hard to believe. Restaurant food was average at best. Very limited menu. Mattress needed to be replaced. It had to be several years old. Craters in when lying down.

Great location in centre of all tourist attractions. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Hotel Royal San Marco is advertised as a four-star hotel, but based on our stay, I'd place it closer to the three-star category. The hotel is quite old and dated and could definitely use some updating. For the prices charged, we expected a little more from the rooms and the property overall. Breakfast was fine but fairly average and nothing particularly memorable. The staff, however, were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The biggest positive is definitely the location. You are extremely central and within about a five-minute walk of most of the major sights around San Marco. The trade-off is noise. Being this close to Piazza San Marco means you’re in a busy area, and you will hear the bells throughout the day, including around midnight. Overall, it was satisfactory for our short two-night stay and the location made exploring Venice very easy. If we returned, though, we would probably stay a little farther from the main square and look for a more modern hotel at a similar price.

We loved our stay. The location was very convenient to start. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff were very friendly and full of information for us. The room was large, clean and extremely comfortable. I can’t wait to return to Venice for a return stay.
