A lot of pros and cons with this place. Very upscale and the room was spacious and modern. The location is excellent. On the other hand, the room design was a bit odd. Bathroom not truly separate from the bed area (sliding thin panels) and there was street noise. A lot of non-guests frequent the hotel so it was busy but not in a good way. Services, like the cafe, were closed during our entire stay of four nights. Weird for a hotel at this price and expected caliber. I liked it okay but my wife says never again.

The location was excellent, for walking and for access to public transportation.The 3 bedroom suite had plenty of space for 4 adults. I had one meal in the restaurant, a chicken caeser salad, which was very good. But considering the cost of the stay, I expected the accommodations to be slightly better. There was supposed to be a VIP gift card, but the only perk offered was a free glass of house wine or beer in the bar, so I assume that was it. There was no coffee maker in the unit- just a kettle and instant coffee packets. (Coffee drinkers know this is unaccrptable.) The combination laundry washer/dryer was not ideal - no instructions were provided, and the dryer function ran so hot that the unit door would remain locked until it had cooled down, effectively holding my clothes hostage. On one occasion I tried to order a cocktail at the restaurant (full) bar, but the staff member did not know how to make any cocktails, so she told me my only alcohol options were wine or beer. Additionally, and not the fault of the Clarion, the casino across the river shot huge flames into the sky, every night from 9 to 12, on the hour. It was surprisingly loud and disturbing, once the initial fascination wore off. So, while I would stay in this area again, I would probably book different accomodations.

The hotel is in a convenient location, surrounded by supermarkets and eateries, and the secured parking for $11 per night was a great bonus. The room and bathroom were clean, and there were plenty of amenities provided. We particularly enjoyed the shower, which had both hot and cold options and great water pressure. The lift provided 24-hour access to both the basement car park and reception, which was really convenient. We stayed for three nights during the Easter break, and while housekeeping wasn’t available, there was a trolley with towels and all necessary amenities available for us to grab. We had a lovely stay and will definitely return in the future.
