Close to metro, clean, customer focused

As a person of color I felt very intimidated by the receptionist today. I went to ask for the mini bar to be refilled and for the AC to be fixed (note, temperature is 29C in Amsterdam today). However, the receptionist looked at me with a frown from the very start of our conversation. There was 0 apology or even any hint of “oh that’s too bad” about our AC being dysfunctional. I felt too scared to even finish my sentences, and we were dismissed abruptly after asking her for these 2 things. Thankfully, Alexandra quickly arrived and helped us sort both things out. She recognized how stressed I was and showed genuine empathy. She listened to us so that we could tell her the error message we saw on the AC so that it can be fixed properly. Alexandra also explained that we didn’t need to carry the drinks ourselves and the mini bar will be restocked in our rooms. When I communicated my concerns about my initial encounter, the first receptionist STOPPED helping her other guests and INTERRUPTED my communication with Alexandra, calling me “rude” for saying that I felt unsafe and for telling the difference I observed between the way that I was treated compared to other guests who are not peoples of color. I was shaking and nearly crying because of how intimidated I was, given, that I deal with very challenging populations as part of my work, and yet I felt scared in this very place, for the very first time at any hotel. Host pressured me to delete my comment. AC broken during entire time

Love this hotel. Stayed already 3 times. The best one in Amsterdam i would say. Close to airport, only 20 min away, great clean area, 2 min walk to metro station to go to the center which will take only 10 min by train. And cheap, arpund 2£. Hotel is very clean, well maintened. Great staff at the reception, very welcoming. Great staff at the restaurants, very friendly. Room is spacious, clean, love the design. Good tea and coffee facilities, water. In shower you have shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, which is great, not the 10 in 1 options :D body lotion in bathroom. Love the product, very good. Try SPA, so great amd relaxing: sauna, steam, aroma sauna, foot bath, relaxing area. Restaurants great. For breakfast good variety of food, delicious coffee and fresh juices. Try pizza from Moqum, you can take it as room service, very delicious. Bar itself is great. Highly recommended hotel.

The small boutique hotel is lovely and charming. Close to the tram stop, museums and charming restaurants.

Great last minute stay. Would saturation and recommend

I spent a considerable amount of time trying to decide on a hotel for a family of 4. Took weeks to decide. This hotel was truly perfect. The location, size of the family suite, huge bathroom (for Europe). The canals on the side were loud for maybe one hour a night in total and then quiet the rest of the night. We used a sound machine and it was just fine. My only complaint is that when you have a family suite and you know there are 4 guests, leave 4 towels. We consistently were given 3 towels and then had to call down for the 4th. Which of course they brought no problems. Just a detail thing. We would stay again. Had the best time in Amsterdam even if it was during the heatwave.

Beautiful hotel

Great location to see Amsrerdam

The cat is a sweetheart! Thank you for the water in the room and all the advice on places to see! Close to the museums to walk to but the bus and tram are right there. The breakfast downstairs is worth the monez for sure. We enjoyed out basement room and our stay.
