Lovely property, amazing location with the lake beside it. If you're looking for quiet away from the tourist locations, this is it. Staying here, you would need to commute into the city. Overall, it is a lovely hotel

Beautiful hotel

I am so happy I found this property. It is in a lovely quiet location and on a convenient Tram stop as well. The room was amazing and provided a restful setting in my busy visit to Amsterdam. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and I would like to thank Nauman for all his friendly logistical support for my trip which helped immensely, and my appreciation also to Agni, Ella and Vivi for their warm reception and arrangements. I am looking forward to trying out the other July properties that Nauman recommended, the Boat and in London. Many thanks to the staff for a wonderful stay here!

As a person of color I felt very intimidated by the receptionist today. I went to ask for the mini bar to be refilled and for the AC to be fixed (note, temperature is 29C in Amsterdam today). However, the receptionist looked at me with a frown from the very start of our conversation. There was 0 apology or even any hint of “oh that’s too bad” about our AC being dysfunctional. I felt too scared to even finish my sentences, and we were dismissed abruptly after asking her for these 2 things. Thankfully, Alexandra quickly arrived and helped us sort both things out. She recognized how stressed I was and showed genuine empathy. She listened to us so that we could tell her the error message we saw on the AC so that it can be fixed properly. Alexandra also explained that we didn’t need to carry the drinks ourselves and the mini bar will be restocked in our rooms. When I communicated my concerns about my initial encounter, the first receptionist STOPPED helping her other guests and INTERRUPTED my communication with Alexandra, calling me “rude” for saying that I felt unsafe and for telling the difference I observed between the way that I was treated compared to other guests who are not peoples of color. I was shaking and nearly crying because of how intimidated I was, given, that I deal with very challenging populations as part of my work, and yet I felt scared in this very place, for the very first time at any hotel. Host pressured me to delete my comment. AC broken during entire time

The cat is a sweetheart! Thank you for the water in the room and all the advice on places to see! Close to the museums to walk to but the bus and tram are right there. The breakfast downstairs is worth the monez for sure. We enjoyed out basement room and our stay.
