Very polite and friendly staff, and what a hotel!!!

There are lots of hotels to stay at in Kathmandu, but there is only one Shankar. Shankar has unmatched hospitality, with my personal favorite hosts Mr. Puri & Mr. Sharan who are both super stars. I always looked foward to chatting with them at meal times. Shankar has a mid-century modern motif, and it keeps the heritage of Nepal and Newari culture alive. Shankar also has an amazing garden to relax in and connect with nature after a long day in the city.

I had the pleasure of meeting several staff members during my stay, all of whom went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and accommodate requests such as luggage storage and early check-in. The complimentary foot massage was an unexpected and much-appreciated touch. I look forward to staying with you again on my next visit. Thank you for making it an excellent experience—please continue delivering such a high level of service.

Atmospheric heritage hotel with a lovely garden and swimming pool tucked away in a quite corner just a stone's thrown from dining and shopping options in Lazimpat and environs. Great value.

Everything was lovely! The staff is courteous, helpful and welcoming. We arrived on an early flight and they treated us as full guests from the moment we walked in the door. It’s an exceptional experience!

We stayed 2 nights and our stay was perfect for our needs. It was very close to everything and within 2 min walk to Thamel's main street for all your hiking needs. We walked everywhere from there. Staff were amazing, the heating worked well, comfortable bed but the shower was more warm than hot and the breakfast is quite basic. Overall very satisfied with our stayed.
