The Inn at Halona was one of the nicest B & B's that my husband and I have ever stayed at. It was unique, clean, beautifully decorated with Zuni art, and so homey! We ate at the Plaza next door for dinner, and the fried chicken there has ruined me for life, as this place is a 10 hour drive from my house. If I want the BEST fried chicken I've ever had, I have to drive 10 hours.
Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and our room was stocked with soft, colorful, NUMEROUS towels! It sounds like such a small thing, but I've stayed in many places where there is one towel per person, and it can be very difficult. Here, there were at least three each of facecloths, hand towels, and bath towels in a very pretty shade of rose that were so soft.
I chose the blue corn pancakes for breakfast, they served me two of them,as big as the 12" diameter plate. Plenty to eat and SO good!
Roger Thomas came by and spoke with everyone at breakfast. We had come in a little later than some other people, so he stayed and talked to us while we ate. He was funny, smart and a wonderful representative of the Zuni people. My husband and I felt accepted and cared for, and we wished that we could have spent more time among these gracious, welcoming people.
