With new safety guidelines in effect, travel looks a bit different these days. These are some handy things to know before you get on that plane to Zemgale:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in your flight. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• You're required to wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA employee.

• Remove personal items from your pockets, such as your wallet, keys and phone, and place them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
