Our stay was fantastic.

Super Stay!

It was absolutely perfect for our family! There were 15 of us ranging in age from 2-73! It fit us all perfectly with room to spare! Everything about the place met or exceeded expectations! We would rent it again and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Scotch Creek!

Exactly what we needed!

We (3 families) spent Thanksgiving weekend here, was room for everyone, we all had somewhere to sleep and or escape! Beds were warm and comfy, Hot tub, sauna fire pit, all bonuses, Everything was as promised! Would definitely recommend for large group get together's.

Family reunion

Loved our week at Son Country Chalet, exceptionally clean and convenient for couples, kids, teenagers and grandparents. So enjoyed the pool table, hot tub, well stocked kitchen bbq, and laundry facilities. Lots to do for everyone and enough space where one could be quieter if needed. We all want to come back again!

Best family get away.

It was more than we thought it would be, home and surroundings were beautiful. Everything we needed was there that we needed. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding was top notch. The children loved it so much they didn’t want to go home. We plan to go back.

Family Getaway

Actually had beds for 19 people! Nice securely fenced backyard for little people. Nice shaded back yard and front deck as it was hot while we were there. Enough room for everyone. Close to beach.

Wonderful place for a get-together!

We had a wonderful week catching up with old friends and family. The chalet was very spacious and clean and offered numerous activities to keep everyone, young and old, entertained. The staff in the local shops were very friendly and accommodating. We didn't want to leave!

Just what we needed

House very neat and clean. Plenty of kitchen utensils and dishes. Great hot tub. We really appreciated an easy 2 minute walk to step into the lake

Excellent for Family Gathering!

The owner was very helpful, and responded to all our requests. We had a full house, for a family reunion, the kids had a great time! Perfect spot with beautiful surroundings. The Chalet is clean and comfortable, and Hot tub and pool table made for a fun time. Highly recommend this to anyone with a big group, looking to kick back and relax.

Third stay at this location

Since we have returned 3 times obviously we have enjoyed staying at the property.We were a little concerned this time as ownership had changed after we had booked however the new owners were pleasant and responded quickly to questions. It was very smoky for the first few days but that didn’t hamper our boating sitting on the beach etc Our family had a good time again

Turn key experience

Excellent location and great amenities for a winter vacation in Scotch Creek. Friendly neighbors, easy access and great weather made it a fantastic visit we will not forget. Thanks to Joel for making this a trip as easy as it could possibly be. Everything worked as advertised, no issues with anything to report. Thanks Son Country Chalet!

Amazing Rental!

We recently booked Son Country Chalet for a small family reunion. We had an amazing time and the house exceeded our expectations. The owners were very hospitable, kind and accommodating and even with four families we had way more room than we needed. The Chalet is right by the lake and there were lots of activities to keep us busy (pool table, kids toys, a good tv center). Everything was very clean and well laid out and ther were lots of extra blankets and towels which we found helpful. We would highly recommend this property and hope that we can visit again soon.

Great fun with good Friends.

From the time we got there, to the time we left, it was a very welcoming experience. The Chalet was clean and inviting and had a lot to offer. We had 14 people stay and it didn't feel crowded at all. This place has a lot to offer as far as things to do. A nice fire pit to hang out at and have some drinks and laughs, a hot tub to relax in, and a pool table to make a few $$ off your friends. I would like to thank the owners and the people involved in renting this to me. It made my wife's 40th birthday a big hit and something she won't soon forget. I will definitely look into staying here again.

Absolutely gorgeous place to vacation

My family came here at Son Country for a family reunion this past fall of 2013 and I can't begin to tell you what an incredible time we had.The owner of this home was very hospitable and we felt very comfortable and at home while we stayed here.There is a local store that is a 30 second drive from the property which you can buy groceries and personal needs at a drug store nearby. There is also a local fun center for children and adults alike where you can enjoy some family entertainment. There is also a nice bowling lane too.This 5000 sq. foot home is situated about a three minute walk to the beach so if you choose ta spend some time in the summer there, there is a beautiful lake nearby.. I would highly recommend this property.

New Years escape

We had an amazing stay! We had 4 families of 4, 2 children each and we all fit and all had a blast. We'll be booking again! The loft was so much better than we'd anticipated, the kids loved it. There was enough space to visit, play and just relax. The pool table got lots of use! The kitchen accommodated all of us, which is a feat in itself! We used the firepit outside and the hot tub everyday, at least once! All in all, I'd recommend it to anyone. Lots of parking-accommodated all our trucks and sleds and a trailer. We went riding at Crowoot-it was awesome. The only thing missing was a little more snow! Can't wait to do it again!!!!!

Beautiful Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a group of 15 family members (small children, teenagers, parents and grandma) who came to spend Thanksgiving weekend together. We have been planning to attend the Salmon Run for a few years and this weekend worked out perfectly. The house was very well stocked, well kept and CLEAN! The hot tub and pool table provided several hours of enjoyment for everyone. The kitchen worked out well for such a large group and grandma was able to prepare a wonderful turkey dinner! Laundry room, fluffy fresh bedding, tons of towels and complimentary bottle of wine were additional perks. Our group has rented side by side condos before but having everyone in the same house (with enough room to have our own space if needed) and being able to share meals and socialize together was really nice. Thank you Mitch and Joel!

Family Day Weekend

My friends and family gathered here for my birthday and BC's Family Day holiday, and we had a great time. We noticed right away that the property was very clean. It is on a wooded lot that is very close to the beach, so we went on a few relaxing walks, and the hot tub was lovely on a cooler winter day. The kitchen was huge and was a great gathering space for everyone, and the couches in the living room are very comfortable. The pool table in the living room was a highlight. Just a few notes: there are 4 bedrooms and a loft space, with a total of 10 beds (there are some discrepancies between various websites); the sauna is in a corner of one of the bedrooms; there's no kettle; and the fireplace is a small electronic one in the corner of the dining room. We didn't know this ahead of time, but the landlord lives downstairs; having said that, he was very friendly and didn't mind our late-night dance parties. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to rent here again!

Family reunion

My family stayed at the Son Country Chalet in August, 2016. One of the main reasons I choose this place is because it has a ramp entry and an accessable bathtub for my elderly father. We were a large goup with 20 people but there was still plenty of room for everyone. The kids had the living room upstairs to play while the adults entertained themselves on the main floor. There was lots of fridge space with two full fridges downstairs and a mini fridge upstairs, plenty of linens and bath towels, and a well equipped kitchen. We moored our boat at the marina located a couple blocks away and then brought it over daily to the public beach just down the road from the chalet. We also rented a pontoon boat from the marina one day. There was a grocery, liquor, and drug store not far away which we visited on our morning walk. What a great place! I would recommend it to other large groups.

Son Country Chalet is a great getaway!

Our stay for the Thanksgiving weekend was enjoyable for everyone in our group. The home is very big, with fenced in backyard and lots of parking. Can tell the home has been well loved, but no major concerns. We had plenty of kids running around and multiple families and found that we could hear anything between rooms. Not a problem unless you are looking for a quiet time away. All bedding and supplies at the home were more than sufficient for our large group. The loft is great for kids aged 10-18 as a very steep ladder into this loft where there are 6 of the chalets beds are located. Younger children will find this ladder intimidating and parents will stress over their children's constant need to attempt to climb. We just laid ground rules and it was fine. Joel, the property owner and Don the caretaker were fantastic to deal with and timely with info and assistance when requested. Don lives next door and was a big help when checking in. Only point we could offer for future bookings, enquire about the hot tub. We were told 2 weeks before our stay that the hot tub was not available due to damage caused by previous visitors. It would be a shame to book this place for a snowmobiling trip etc.. and still not have use of the hot tub. Other than this though, the entire stay was great and experience at Son Country Chalet, in all aspects, was fun and easy. Thank you to Joel and Don for a great weekend! Cheers!

The property was clean, well maintained and centrally located close to many uptown amenities. Walking to downtown or Old town was difficult and required a cab, unless you wanted to walk over 1 hour. Unfortunately my low rating is directly related to the lack of privacy this unit has. The unit shares access through a mudroom that connects directly to a basement unit, with no secure barrier or lock under guest control. This arrangement was not disclosed in the listing, and it caused significant discomfort during our stay due to unexpected foot traffic, noise and the lack of privacy or security in this shared space.
