"I stayed 3 nights for a conference in Shimonoseki. The hotel is clean, has all the amenities I need, and the onsen was a plus. Hotel provides pyjamas and all sorts of skin care products at no additional charge. The open bar in the evenings was also a nice touch. There are good restaurants within walking distance."

"This is an old school honestly, but with nicely separated living spaces (shred bathrooms). Not squeaky clean, and a bit outdated…but human and not without charm. The owner is a super courteous dude. You may need a car as it is a few kilometers 40 minute walk from the train station. The payoff is the silence and chill vibes out here. I enjoyed my stay. "

When we went back to the main lobby, we had to wait in the lobby for over an hour before the staff got us a room. They did not provide updates either. They just asked us to wait. Any update they did provide to us was provided in Japanese and they clearly knew that I could not understand Japanese.
