Lovely hotel. We stayed in a superior king room that had been recently refurbished and had modern décor. Unfortunately the staff insisted on copying photo id and payment card details at check-in, although payment had been made in advance. Breakfast good but milk for breakfast cereal had gone off.

Overall a very good experience. The staff were very helpful and polite. The only minor negative was the long checking in process 👍

Room was just okay but I noticed some black hairs on the sheets. The wifi was not working properly either. The water pressure was very low so it was difficult having a nice shower.

The Hand Hotel was ok. It was simply an overnight stop off whilst doing Offa’sDyke walk. A bit tired and dated but at the price, we couldn’t complain

Amazing staff; very helpful and kind and we cannot recommend them more. Room was dated, but very clean and functional and honestly, it was exactly what we needed for two nights of hiking out into the canals and waterways. Should we come through again, we would happily come back.

The property was pet friendly and my dog was made welcome. Lovely beer garden at rear which we were able to take advantage of due to the warm and sunny weather during our stay. Only a short walk (about 15 minutes) from the train station and and a lovely big park across the road from the hotel. Not much in Chirk though, with little more than cafes and bistros and bus service looks poor (up to 3hours apart judging by the timetables where provided) compared with other parts of Wales we’ve visited

The room was bright and clean and looked recently refurbished. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was fine except the shower wasn't powerful if you used the handheld head. However the fixed shower head was stronger if you didn't mind getting your hair wet! What really stood out for me was the staff, especially the two brothers who worked there. They were customer friendly and engaging with smiles that lit up a room! A real credit to the hotel and a great asset. Many thanks to them for a lovely stay.

The staff were lovely, the room was clean but the hotel was tired. The meal times advertised were not kept to. We wanted an evening meal on the Sunday. The times advertised were 5.30 - 7.45, but when we asked we were told the kitchen closed at 5 on Sunday. Breakfast was good. The hotel served our needs and was not terrible but we thought it expensive for the facilities offered and would not visit again.
