Perfect getaway

Beautiful home, even more spectacular view. Drive up is an adventure, but so worth it. We had great wifi and reception and kitchen is well stocked. Close to the mountains, Bryson City and other restaurants and amenities. It was perfect for our family's long weekend retreat!

Beautiful cabin

We have stayed in a lot of cabins. This was the most beautiful one we’ve ever stayed at. We actually, for the first time, used a travel agent and we are so glad we did. KH Travel found us this and we were so pleased. The view is as breathtaking as the cabin.

Nice cabin, great views!

My family & I really enjoyed our stay at Bear Bottoms. The cabin was plenty big enough, the views were great & even though we had close neighbors it felt like we were all alone in the mountains. The only thing I would suggest is the property needs more utensils & a few more sets of dishes. We had exactly what we needed for meals so we needed to do dishes after each meal.

Great Cabin

We loved everything about the cabin. It’s sooo nice and the view from the front porch is extraordinary!! The beds were more firm than we like, but it wasn’t a big deal. The cabin was very clean and lots of privacy. We loved the sitting area on the bottom level. Just a great cabin overall!! The road to the cabin is very steep and narrow, but we didn’t mind. Would definitely have been difficult to pass other vehicles, but thankfully we didn’t meet any other vehicles.

Great Area

Loved visiting the National Park and Polar Express ride. Was disappointed with the cabin. Spare bedroom was not as listed, instead had wobbly bunk beds so had to improvise both nights! Fire place didn’t work. Maybe it’s just the season but we were severely outnumbered by the lady bugs and stink bugs!

Headache from the start.

When we arrived on Thursday the heat was not working. My husband and my father went outside and the condensing coil was frozen. And the thermostat was locked on the inside of the cabin. They ended up getting the emergency heat to work. When we tried to light the fire place, it wouldnt work. It didnt work our entire stay. There were SEVERAL lady bugs and stink bugs throughout the cabin. A ton in the large windows, bathrooms, bedrooms. EVERYWHERE! There was black mold in the wet bar area. On the wall, the dart board game, the pictures. The bunkbeds in the spare room, were so wobbly and missing screws that no one could sleep on it. When I reached out to Vacasa they offered to relocate us, unfortunately they did not have anything in the area. They then offered to refund my money and we could find somewhere else. Again, unfortunately there was nothing in the area for a reasonable price (it would take 3-5 business days to get a refund) and we had tickets to the Polar Express. They offered to send someone up on friday to address our issues and no one ever came nor called. Our trip was through Sunday, and we decided to leave on Saturday, after trying to tough it out. The only thing positive about this trip was the views! We definitely will not book this cabin in the future.

Loved the view the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The drive from the gate to the cabin was a bit crazy and the parking area was not meant for trucks. Very tight fit.

Peaceful vacation

Loved the views from the cabin. Ride up to the cabin was steep but wasn’t too bad after you get up the first time. Cabin was centrally located not far from Cherokee and Bryson city. Very cozy and has about everything you need for your stay. Enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful mountain retreat!

Our family of three thoroughly enjoyed our seven nights in this large, comfortable home. Of course, the views from the deck were a highlight - absolutely stunning! We also enjoyed the downstairs bar area (especially playing darts) and making s'mores at the fire pit on the rock patio.

Great views

The house has great views and was meticulously clean and neat. The roads are twisty one lane hairpin turn roads but that’s just the way it is in the mountains. It was entirely manageable in an SUV and worth the drive for the view and house.

Expectations Met!!

The cabin was everything we envisioned. We took our 2 adult children and their spouses on a family get away to a beautiful spot in North Carolina. The Cabin had so much room, awesome views and everything you need to have a relaxing time. We highly recommend Smoky Mountains River Adventures for Double Duckies down the Tuck river.
