Very happy stay
A fantastic stay with all our needs, and very very friendly and welcoming. Good size en suite bedroom with great views, very comfortable. Fabulous breakfast. Good location 7min walk to town 15 to harbour front. Will come again

After accepting the three dogs, the house is well kept, clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was delicious.

Greenfield House
Great location within a few minutes walk of the town centre. Excellent rooms and a fantastic breakfast. Well worth a stay.

Our visit was like staying in a well-appointed family home. Comfortable, clean and modern but appropriate decor in this recently renovated Victorian house. The owner could not have been more friendly, with very helpful local knowledge and making us feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent, from full English , to vegetarian or smoked salmon on scrambled eggs - all delicious. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic stay
Stay was a great 2 nights stay! It was a last minute booking for our climb to scafell pike and found this B n B at an affordable rate and close location to scafell pike. Room is very spacious, bright and clean, comfortable and looks very cosy, bathroom Is spacious and clean too! And We had fresh towels the next day! Breakfast was good, variety of choices although we were not able to try the full English breakfast. The owner is very lovely and welcoming 😍

Wonderful stay
We stayed at Glenfield house for 7 nights as an end of summer getaway. Kathy was a lovely host as were her 2 dogs Lily and Flyn. The room had a cottage and boutique feel. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The whole place has recently been renovated to a high standard. Every morning we were cooked a full fried breakfast of our choice at a time that suited us. Cereal and fruit was available, however Kathy's cooking was top notch. We had friend breakfast 7 days in a row, a new record for us both!!! We would give 10 stars if we could. Absolutely wonderful time had. Loads to see and do in the local town, much of which we were recommended by Kathy.

Warm friendly welcome by Kathy as well as her nice dogs! When we arrived late evening, we were grateful for the advice as to where to eat; and the last-minute sandwiches Kathy prepared for us for our climb up Scarfell Pike. Room spacious and clean with nice period details - just watch out for the outstretched bed posts, which I caught my knee on.

The owner could not have done more for us. Welcoming and attentive. Even when we requested an early breakfast (5.30 as we were cycling the coast to coast) it wasn’t a problem!

The place was very difficult to find with a small sign under overgrown bushes. It was badly placed as you could not see it from a car due to the incline of the hill. The room was lovely having been refurbished. The breakfast was awful. I have not been presented with underdone sausages and tinned tomatoes since Guide camp. The service at breakfast left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't visit again.

Made to feel very welcome but slightly disorganised at the moment with kitchen renovations going on so had to cross a busy road for cooked breakfast in a hotel ( not up to home made B and B standard )Attic room was fine with a comfy bed, writing table and a view of the hills but no heating although still experiencing some cold Spring mornings and patchy wifi. Walk to the Harbour interesting and took only 10 minutes.

The Glenfield provided a cosy stay for a work trip to Whitehaven. The room was comfortable with a refreshing shower. The only downside was that work is currently being performed on the building and so breakfast was provided across the road at the Chase Hotel. When the refurbishment is complete this will be a great place to stay.

We were doing the Coast to Coast cycle ride and there were excellent bike storage facilities at the B&B. Perhaps a bit pricey overall though.

a stop over before starting the C2C cycle ride. Very pleasant and helpful staff. secure storage for my bike and facilities for an early start. well situated in the town. Outside min area but within easy walking of shops and eateries.

Very nice place to stay
We had 3 very relaxed days here Kathy gave us a warm friendly welcome and showed us to our lovely fresh and airy room,she explained the workings of the bathroom,WiFi etc,the bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding,we were offered a choice of breakfast and at a time to suit us this was very good quality and always ready.she was very helpful advising us of places to visit.A lovely lady with a calming relaxed style and the little extra touches are nice.

lovely atmosphere, great breakfasts - free range eggs, after all that sea air slept very well., plus the bus stop is nearly outside the gate so not far to walk! A pity I was only there for a couple of days!

5STARS....for Kathy who is doing a brilliant job of providing a warm welcome and personal attention to detail .... I had only booked a single room so was delighted when it turned out to be a double room .....the decor was lovely the bed comfy and with an excellent breakfast what more can you ask for ! I think we Hotel.comers need to support more local businesses to thrive and so your in the area don t hesitate to book .

Nice Hotel
The hotel was well placed to walk in to the town. The welcome and the friendliness of the owner was exceptional. Breakfast is tailored to your own needs, both in terms of when you eat and what you eat.

I had a very comfortable stay in this lovely hotel in Whitehaven. The lady who runs it went out of her way to be friendly and welcoming and helpful. I couldn't have asked for more. Definitely recommended!

Great welcome, and yummy breakfast
Cathy the landlady greeted me with a much-needed pot of tea upon arrival, and made me most welcome. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and furnished (very pretty wallpaper), and the bathroom was clean. The building is handsome, and retains much of its period charm, including the beautiful panelled doors, I was pleased to see. Decor is perhaps a little dated, but clean and well-kept. I knew they were working on re-furbishment, because there was a man hard at work in the room acrosss from mine. The bed was comfortable enough, though the mattress was a bit uneven. Breakfast was superb, and worth going just for that - it's just a shame I was too nervous about my presentation to do it justice! Parking was no problem, with plenty of space available in the Chase across the road. The steps up to the front door looked a bit daunting, though I understand there's an accessible entrance at the back of the building. I thought the bottom of the steps could have done with a good sweep - they were rather full of drifts of leaves and looking neglected. Also, a handrail would not go amiss. The town is run-down and a bit depressing, though that's hardly the landlady's fault. If I was in the area again, I would absolutely stay here again - it knocks the socks off Travelodge.
