"The add did not represent the reality of the house. There was no furniture. We were not allowed to use master bedroom with ensuite, the bedrooms had mattress cover and pillows with cases. A duvet with no covering. Nothing in kitchen to prepare a meal or eat off of. We had a kitchen table and 4 chairs, a single bed in the living room only. We drove 7 hrs to spend time with family over Christmas holiday. When I called the owner he said lack of furniture and amenities were reflected in price. We...

"We were so very pleased with this room. We stayed in the library suite and it was very large and nicely appointed. Bathroom is huge. Bedroom was very nice and the bed was comfy. Our suite had a lovely little fenced in yard off the patio doors for your own private patio, which was lovely as we brought our dog with us. I absolutely would not hesitate to recommend this place to other travellers. It was a gem as far as I’m concerned."

"Came during renovations so it’s not fair outside of that and that meant there were some inconveniences like limited access to the front on arrival and no elevator. Breakfast was very much a continental breakfast in line with the price we paid. I would definitely stay again but hopefully if we get put on the top floor again the elevator that’s supposed to be installed is functional. Staff was absent upon check-in but was circumstantial. We waited 5 min for someone to arrive but were super friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and everything was functional. The hot and cold water was opposite of what is indicated on the tub and the drainage in the tub did not keep up with the intake from the faucet. Breakfast area was recently renovated and made for a mostly pleasant experience but when there’s a lot of people getting breakfast at the same time it can feel a bit tight. It would’ve been nice to allocate more walking space around the breakfast bar. There was lots of parking and parking lot was recently repaved. Coffee was outside of the breakfast area but immediately around the corner. We found the coffee to be fresh which made for a nice start to the day with good cups and lids. We would stay again assuming the price doesn’t go up too dramatically after renovations are complete. They are turning into a Spark hotel under Hilton brand as per signage on site."

"In general it was good, but when you check in after 12 am you have to call from the phone hanging on the left wall, but it doesn't work and there is no one at the reception desk, it's bad that you have to wait outside the door. There are no hangers for clothes in the rooms and no wardrobes, even small ones. The air conditioner is very old and worked loudly and prevented me from sleeping. They also request your credit card details upon check-in and enter them into their computer, which is not safe for you."

"King Hotel Palmerston was a great choice for our stay. The room was simple, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. It was quiet, which made for a good night’s sleep, and the location was convenient for our softball tournament. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay, I’d definitely recommend it."
