Nice modern design and pretty standard (if sparsely furnished) carpeted rooms. Cleanliness perfect, staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast only average considering the steep price. For my two night stay, I paid slightly under 50€/night for a single incl. breakfast and thought it was only ok value given its location. Public transport with daily service (S-Bahn stop Leipzig Messe) is about 12min walk away through a largely deserted commercial area (warehouses, empty lots), though there is a convenient bus from Leipzig main station out (number 196, about 1/h) Overall a nice place but probably more suited to a single night stopover. Location really only practical for the fair unless you have a car. Plenty of street parking, don't bother with their lot. ´ Would I stay again? In a pinch, yes. Clean room, relatively reasonable rate. I'd probably not bother with the breakfast.

Great place. Very friendly and helpful staff. My only complains; it would have been a perfect stay if there was a kettle in the room for tea, and if the gym equipment was functional.

It was built between 1706 and 1712 as a packing and weighing station both for Philipp Wilhelm Reichsgraf von Boineburg, the governor of the city and for Archbishop Lothar Franz von Schönborn. It is one of the most important early 18th century buildings. The museum was founded in 1886 to house the artworks that the city of Erfurt had inherited from one of its most famous sons, the Romantic painter Friedrich Nerly.
