"This is a hidden gem and one of my favorite places in the world! I hope the secret doesnt get out TOO MUCH so that its booked solid, but do yourself a favor and visit this pristine wilderness in old world luxury! The resort is impeccable - beauty and history and quality at every turn, but the real star is the spring - the largest freshwater spring in the world! The crystal clear, icy water is a refreshing respite from the heat of the summer, and the untouched wilderness surrounding the resort is extremely special and exceedingly rare in this day and age. Wonderful for all ages from children to seniors, with exceptional ADA compliance with the modernization of the historic elevator and the easy sloping paths to the spring and elsewhere. The ammenities offered are just right - nothing too fancy foo-foo, yet nothing left wanting. The restaurant is EXCELLENT (and we are from New Orleans, the fine dining capital of the US). Highest praise to the chef, kitchen staff and front of house - everything was top tier excellence! Pro tip: DO NOT SKIP THE JUNGLE CRUISE - its absolutely worth the meager cost and the time - we saw manatee, birds, fish, turtles and more. LOVE this place and am anxious to return already! Laura at the front desk is a LIFESAVER and goes above and beyond for her guests!"

Cabin Located in a Birding and Fishing Paradise

"My mom, myself, and my toddler travelled to the area to visit various state parks for about a little less than a week, and this was the perfect spot! It was located pretty centrally to our sites of interest and while we didn't spend a whole lot of time here (used it as just our hub), it was quiet and peaceful. My absolutely favorite part was birdwatching on the front porch! Lots of Chickadees, Tufted Titmouse, and Cardinals. We even saw a couple hummingbirds! I can only imagine the wider variety of species that come through during the migration seasons! Anyway, the house worked well for our needs, was big enough for for the three of us (even though my toddler didn't want to sleep in his own bed lol), and having a full kitchen was great. We did some grocery shopping on our first night and were able to come "home" after our explorations and have a quiet dinner as we winded down. Oh, and this house is pet-friendly. My mom brought her two little dogs and they were happy to explore the house and the yard whenever we were there. Even though we had to pack a crate for them, it saved us a bundle on boarding! One major note - and it's not to do with the house - but if you're going to be doing anything outdoors while you're in the area, bring tick spray! I didn't do all my homework while planning this trip, so we weren't as prepared as we could have been, and we had to do tick checks after every hike! Be safe! Anyway, long story short, this is a great place to stay!"
