Vulcan Park and Museum

The Vulcan statue is the largest cast iron statue in the world, and is the city symbol of Birmingham, Alabama, reflecting its roots in the iron and steel industry. The 56-foot tall statue depicts the Roman god Vulcan, god of the fire and forge. It was created as Birmingham's entry for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (1904 World's Fair) in St. Louis, Missouri. The statue is the world's largest iron-ore statue, and among the nation's tallest.

Damn Fine Peeps and Suds at the Good People Brewery and Taproom!! Enjoy drinking your beer at tables right out on this working brewery floor. I would highly recommend a stop for one of their tours that they offer on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm on the hour. Signing up online is the best way to go to reserve a slot. Each tour is limited to 15 peeps so... nice and intimate. $10 gets you a collectible glass and a pint or four 4-oz samples.
