Quiet essentials on Volcanoes NP boundary
Quiet private inn with easy access to Volcanoes National Park. The complimentary coffee and papaya were much appreciated. Had a little trouble with Wi-Fi, which was resolved satisfactorily. Hot tub was clean and a good temperature.

Needs a serious clean up
Although I greaty apprecoated the hospitality (the woner helped me significantly with the check in/ settling), this was the dirtiest opriperty I have seen on the island + it has roaches roaming the rental room. Literally. Conventinally Volcano also has very high prices (on everything) because of its proximity to the park -- there is nothing else around said park but rainy Hilo -- but this property charges twice (if not thrice) for what it's worth. I absolutely owuld recommend everyone to rent in Hilo

There are no roaches in the room you rented. You were afraid to go out to dinner and said you had not eaten in 12 hours. You asked if any one delivered food to the hotel. You said you could not find your way back to the hotel if you left. This was after 6 pm. I had my friend give you a ride to Thai Thai bar and bistro. If you would have complained when you arrived about the room I could have done something about it. Your paranoid attitude is not welcome here!!

Perfect for us!
So close to the volcano, arriving at night, the hot tub with lighted decor was enchanting! The only hiccup was one of the cats stole our bathing suit from our lanai, but we found it, so no harm done! My granddaughter wanted to stay forever!

Comfortable and convenient studio
This place is nicely decorated and very convenient to visit the locations around Volcano National Park. The host left fruit, yogurt, and banana muffins water which was very helpful. There were books to learn more about scenic day trips and hikes. The bedroom area and the patio were comfortable. It was very close to nearby stores, the gas station and restaurants.

Really nice interesting room. Very nice touch with free muffins, yogurt and coffee for the morning. We loved the hot tub after a cool rainy day in Volcano Park! Only issue was trying to figure out the TV system. It would be nice to have a set of instructions for those of us that don't have smart TV's and unfamiliar with the Spectrum Cable stuff!

The cleaning process was not completed in our room. There was still a 1/2 pot of coffee on the coffee maker left from the previous clients. Our friends in another room got a papaya, we did not. However, muffins and yogurt were tasty. We had not heard from John about our room number prior to check in and had to text him for it.

The room was as described but the condition of the 5 apartment property was pretty messy and overwhelming. what I liked, the coffee and muffins. The patio and quiet evenings. Location! What I would have changed, upkeep of property, better communication for check in and out. We never met the owners.

The parking was a bare hillside crowded with vehicles and hard to park in. The outside was littered with household items and out buildings. The room was very small and there was no place to sit and very little space to open our suitcases.

Unusual but perfect!
a funky colourful looking motel-like property and fun to stay at. The owner is very welcoming and helpful. Perfect location to visit Volcano Park and the owner took us to see the lava at night. A great visit!

I recently stayed at this property for a night. We were 3 people. The host promptly arranged for an extra bed. Something that’s not easy to find in the big island. The checkin process was smooth. We could easily follow the directions. Plenty of parking available. The room size is decent but it got a little tight with no proper place to put our luggage. The bathroom doesn’t have an exhaust fan (it does have a window) but it can get stuffy very quickly. The room floors, bathroom, and lanai was not clean. You could see cobwebs everywhere. We didn’t feel it was worth the price we paid.

Relaxing beautiful little paradise
Beautiful quiet area. The host is an amazing person, made sure we had everything we needed and gave us recommendations of places to go and routes to take. The room was clean and the hot tube was really nice! I loved the place. Planning on coming back soon

It had a good sleeping condition. But questionable cleanliness. Coffee mug with warm water and pot filled with old stale coffee. And sticky floors and overall a bit not clean feel to it….

Jade Oasis was a comfortable, quiet retreat near Volcano National Park. 5 minutes from the tiny town of Volcano, less than 10 minutes from the park and about 1/2 hour away from Hilo. John and Joy were gracious hosts, easy to communicate with and helpful. The place was pretty quirky but well cared for. Quiet. The hot tub was delightful!

Jade Oasis is a very comfortable place to stay. The bed was wonderful. The breakfast was a nice touch with delicious fruit, muffins and yogurt. Bottled water is provided. We didn’t use the hot tub but it looked very well maintained. John was super helpful and informative about the area. The place is quirky and very unique with colorful painting and wall hangings. The room was on the small side but it had everything we needed.

Close to Volcano park. Nice to have the hot tub. When finding, recommend staying on Jade, just past 2nd, first place on your right. Very eclectic.

Great place for the night near Volcano
This was a great place to spend the night before heading out to see the volcano at 4:30 a.m. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed eating our take out food on the little patio out back. Felt very private. There were a few people partying at the hot tub, but fortunately they didn't stay late, and the rest of the night it was very quiet. We would definitely stay here again. Muffins and yogurt were a nice touch for breakfast. Thank you John!

Perfect!
We loved this sweet rainforest getaway. It was exactly as advertised and the bed was extremely comfy. John the owner had thought of everything that might be needed for a rainforest stay - from extra bandaids for lava-viewing hikers who may have blisters, to stocking the fridge with yoghurt to go with the plentiful fresh papaya that was available each day. The room was cozy, clean and comfortable, with fresh towels available daily. A highlight of my stay was spent in the hot tub, listening to the sound of the morning rain and the wind chimes, looking out at the rainforest. The TV had 200+ channels, and the owner was very generous; noticing me eyeing some flowers on the property and offering me a stem of exotic fragrant ginger (which was not in season yet on this part of the island, so a special treat) to share with my dad for his birthday. Thank you John for all your helpful recommendations! You made our stay on island the best it could have been.

Jade Oasis is a true gem! I wanted to have a nice place to spend the night & save my partner a long drive at the end of a busy day. John, the owner, simplified the process & warmly welcomed us when we arrived. Room was immaculate - lanai private. We relaxed in the crystal clear hot tub. Among many personal touches was a packet of information about nearby places to eat/visit (with phone #s, hours of operation, & directions) that we never would have known about or found! This was so helpful. We enjoyed our 2 night stay & recommend this conveniently located property that was better than we expected! Jade Oasis is not a posh resort. It is real Hawaiiana, in the true aloha spirit

Nice overnight for lava viewing.
Nice "cozy" place. Good location to the park. Hot tub. Good hot showers. Plenty of towels. Plentiful bottled drinking water (we live on catchment as well, it's an appreciated gesture). Good proximity to a truly outstanding Thai food truck. We will return for our next after dark lava viewing experience!

Not Great for Asthmatics.
This property is ideally located for access to National Volcano Park, the host is friendly but unfortunately our room was very damp and had ventilation issues with black mold on the tub, walls, bathroom curtains and entry door and the toilet could have been cleaner. Some of the mold was painted over. Our coffee station had been moved outside to accommodate a fan. Abundant eclectic art but no Hawaiian batik bedspread.

A True Get-Away
We wanted to get away for a while, and see the volcano eruption—and this quiet, uncommercialized, very interesting, and unique lodging, with the bonus of the hot tub, certainly more than filled the bill. It was also very close to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which was the main reason we came to the area. We also enjoyed meeting John, Joy, Kristin, and Terry. Thank you for helping us to make another happy memory.
