In the morning, after breakfast I walked over to the Viking Village and did a tour there… very interesting and worth doing. The bus stop was no more than a 10 minute walk from Fjordtel and I jumped on the bus to Bergen. Thank you for your hospitality Gudvangen Fjordtel!"

"Staying in this incredible home in Finnabotn was the highlight of our Norway vacation. This "secret" branch of the Sognefjord offers a truly authentic, off-the-grid experience. There is no road access so we rented a boat—the only way to get here—through Vik Adventures and the journey itself was part of the adventure, a scenic 25 to 45-minute ride on the fjord from Vikøyri, depending on conditions.The home itself is a quiet, rustic retreat with some modern updates, preserved to maintain its historical features as part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The scenery is absolutely stunning, with enormous waterfalls serving as a backdrop. We spent our time exploring the area, hiking to the top of the mountain where the waterfalls begin, and enjoying the wild berries. We boated to Balestrand for dinner one night. Every evening, we'd sit on the dock listening to the sounds of the falls. This is a perfect escape for anyone looking for an authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience. NOTE: you need to pack your groceries, as there are no stores nearby!"
