The location of this property is excellent. It is steps away from Bryggen and right on the harbor front. The room was very nice and the breakfast and dinners were very good. Finally the staff was five star, very helpful and extremely friendly. We would highly recommend.

Mixed... some staff were above and beyond some made us feel uncomfortable especially in the evening restaurant. Wine was a thimbleful pour and then never asked about if we wanted another so steak was washed down with water. Just a very odd experience in there... tables bunched together and our feet didn't touch the floor which is very uncomfortable all evening. Breakfast staff very friendly and food was lovely but got old after several days of exactly the same choice. Especially as one didn't like croissants which took several choices away. Hotel is eclectic and FABULOUS decor wise... and they definitely rely on that for wow factor ...very impressive for a couple days but don't stay longer. Didn't realize they had a speakeasy until our last night, that was fun place to visit. Yvette champagne bar looked gorgeous but was always empty. And no staff to serve. Room was great.. cleaning was okay for example carpet clearly not vacuumed.. as we saw same bits all week. Shower leaked out into the floor. We enjoyed Bergen and the hotel, the staff (especially breakfast staff) were mostly fantastic/ very friendly but for the price we would try another hotel next time. We have been traveling 2 months and this was our last stay. Most expensive and definitely not in the top 5. (Or 10 actually)

A great location if you are young and want a bustling nightlife. You could hear screaming from drunk revelers till 0200 outside the windows. The 5 floor walk up the staircase every time became a little daunting since there is no elevator.
