"After a long drive I was ready for a rest and cup of tea. The room was good and tea and coffee ready to prepare. The evening meal was superb, Saint Jacques cooked to perfection. Not always easy when preparing for many people. Well done, Chef! An enjoyable walk into the village, lovely church, and children all ready for a Halloween party in the sports centre facility. "We absolutely loved our stay at Folklore Boutique Hotel in Sancerre. The hotel is beautiful, stylish, and full of charm—the perfect place to stay while visiting this wonderful wine region. Our room was comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and felt both modern and very much in keeping with the character of Sancerre. The location was fantastic for exploring the village on foot, enjoying the local restaurants, shops, and, of course, the incredible wines. What really made our stay special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything felt personal and relaxed rather than like a large, impersonal hotel. It was exactly the kind of boutique experience we were hoping for. Sancerre was one of the highlights of our trip to France, and staying at Folklore made it even more memorable. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, intimate place to stay in Sancerre. We already hope to return!"

Gîte Des Vignes and its Annex in SANCERRE

"The pictures of this gite do not do it justice.the views from the end of the garden are amazing and there are two sun loungers set up there to enjoy the view of the vineyards with a glass of wine in hand.. The place wax a lot bigger than the pictures looked and everywhere was spotless. Communication with the host was perfect and when we had a problem with some lights it had been fixed within an hour. The bottle of wine already chilled in the fridge was a lovely touch. The gardens were very private so you could sit out at night and not feel overlooked. The area is very quiet generally and especially at night. There are numerous domaines within walking distance to wine taste and we did a tour of Alice’s own cellars which were a couple of doors down. For 15 euros each (children free) we looked around the cellars and the lady talked about the wine making process and then we tried nine wines. I would highly recommend this! Sancerre is an 1hr 10 walk from the gite and there are lots of shops for wine tasting there and some lovely restaurants. There is also a self guided tour around the town by following a red line on the floor from the tourist information office. Overall an amazing gite-we couldn’t have asked for more! We just wished we could have stayed longer-2 nights was not enough! Thankyou Alice!"

"Absolutely extraordinary property. Easily the best property in Sancerre. However, when we stayed the restaurant had to shut down for a mechanical difficulty, thus canceling a reservation that we were really looking forward to. Still, a spectacular hotel with some of the coolest views of the Loire to be seen."
