"The location was great-we were able to start our hikes to the monasteries right from the hotel without dealing with parking nightmares. Check in was not done in person. You needed to follow instructions from the owner to put code in to get a key. Was a bit complicated especially since we arrived when it was getting dark. "Guesthouse Arsenis was amazing! I visited during the "off season", but the weather was still beautiful. The location could not have been better. It was a two minute drive into town and amazingly close to the monasteries. The view from my room and the dining area was gorgeous. Checking in was super simple and I had a chance to talk to the owner and his mother (who were both very, very kind!). The house and land have been in their family for generations and they have clearly taken very good care...

"The place isn't air-conditioned and no one speaks English (despite advertising otherwise, on both items). Complaints are ignored (e.g. problems with bathrooms WiFi). There are so many nice hotels in the village, go somewhere else. We actually had to leave after one night as it was unbearable."

"I had a wonderful mountain view with a balcony and at night the mountains are lit up,so the viewing was 24 hours per day. The sunsets were beautiful ftom my mountain view,also it was close to go hiking, and bus stop, and mini market, and restaurants. staff is friendly and helpful. They have a full kitchen with a big refrigerator, microwave, and stove and cooking utensils. "

"We had a fantastic stay at Epavlis Meteora Suites during our time in Greece! The owners, Spyros and Mary, were really friendly and made us feel at home, welcoming us with cherries from their tree. The property is really well kept with great views of the Meteora rocks on one side and Kalabaka/plain of Thessaly on the other. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. "This is a new property in Kastraki, which is a 15 min walk or 5 euro taxi ride from the town of Kalambaka. Kastraki is a small, quaint village at the foot of the monasteries in Meteora. There is a lovely family run restaurant just at the end of the road, and a bakery across the street. The rooms themselves are well designed, modern and comfortable. For a fee, ask about late check out. It’s very much worth it given the transportation options out of Kalambaka. I’d definitely come back again!"
