"The neighborhood is in the process of being revitalized. It seemed to have abandoned buildings around Ciudad Vieja. Most of the developing areas were near the Mercado Puerto which is about 10minute from Circus Hotel. The location of the hotel was within walking distance of the Plaza Independencia. Sofía at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.. I opted for the private room accomodation. It was spacious and clean. The bed was two twin beds put together . Air conditioner worked very well....

"Staff were friendly and keen to help. Room was bright, clean, bed was comfy, air-conditioning worked. Location was pretty good for Carmelo proper - just off the centre, with easy access for everything from bus station to some of the best food in town. Not so good was the limited front-desk hours which meant having to plan to arrive within a two-hour window. Also the bikes for rent could be in better shape (and not all built for six-foot-tall riders)."

"The bathroom needs updating, its old and often runs out of hot water! The bedrooms are very basic, no wardrobe or locker. Also, be aware that the hostel is NOT in punta del este, its in la barra. "

"A lot of unique aspects I hadn't come across before in a hostel and I've stayed in hundreds. Such as privacy curtains on the non wall side of both levels of the bunk beds (although the top bed a lot harder and noisier to get down as there is nothing to hold onto when descending due to the bed's own built in ceiling and back wall). Another unique aspect, you don't get a room key or swipe card, instead your hand activates a keypad, and you type in the pin code for the room. Never come across...

Sometimes, a great experience can be disrupted by someone that’s not happy making the job, like in this case one of the person of the front desk. That person wasn’t helpful and neither smiling. When you are traveling for leisure you’re looking to relax and having a great time. So having an encounter with someone that is not having it can be a bit not so cool. "I paid for my stay with expedia and there werent supposed to be any outstnding fees, but when i arrived they charged us an additional 50$ us. The rest of our stay was great, clean rooms and great location. "

"The place is close to amenities and stores and shops and restaurants and transportation and sights but the staff particularly one lady named carol she is very rude and not helpful at all plus I was transferred from one room to another and with out notice they will move you and before you know it you are on another room already "

"The hostel is ok and well located but very noisy, noise until 2am and I had to work the other day. I complain to a cellnumber they have in the web who reply the next day. I did not like that there is a painting of Mujica ex president because I dont like how he worked and the countryis almost in bankrupcy, no need to think about politic in a hostel."
