"Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it "

"Rooms could do with updating.Could have done without a car alarm going of several times early in the morning (I know this was not the hotels fault).Breakfast was OK nothing special if you like a buffet breakfast. We had a iron but no ironing board had to borrow from our daughters room next door she had a ironing board but no iron (Yes I've not made that up)"
"Nice hotel unfortunately no air conditioning in the old part of the hotel, not working. Experienced a very hot uncomfortable night provided with fan but made no difference."

"We really loved the property; The property is nestled in the lap of nature, transport yourself to another world by listening to thebirdsong. Also, Simon (owner) was super helpful right from the booking until we checked into the property."
"What a gem, I have never been to the Lake District before and my jaw dropped the second you pull into the car park. I had made a note that we were celebrating a few special occasions and were given an upgrade I believe and a lovely card when we got to our room. The hotel is really easy to find your way around, nice staff, good food and drinks (malibu sunset was a personal fave). The lamb shank was delicious for a Sunday roast. The pool and spa was great as well. Lakeside hotel and spa is a little slice of heaven, outside with all the ducks so comfortable around people and having boats you can rent right on the dock outside is amazing. I love they give you duck food and had milk and cookies out one evening. One night my partner wanted to eat in the pub there and I really fancied Mac and cheese off the room service menu and they made it for me at the pub- that’s outstanding customer service! I’d love to come back here again! I’ll never forget this holiday or hotel. Thank you for making our stay so lovely. Highly recommend!"
"The hotel is very dated. The staff Janet and Lexi, very helpful. The spa, staff absolutely useless to busy listening to music on ear buds at reception when people were waiting for towels. The male changing rooms absolutely filthy, with broken locker doors and filthy blue mats.we arrived on time and Janet was very welcoming, the room 402. Had no toilet roll, no robes or shoes.and the tea and coffee box was empty.Thankfully Lexi on reception in the evening have us some milk and tea.the restaurant evening food was amazing the pie and mashed potatoes cooked to perfection. And the waiter polish guy was brilliant who clearly had passion for his job.The breakfast staff we're not so good they couldn't cope we waited 20 minutes for fried eggs when they did arrive they were overcooked and piled up 6 deep in the bain marie.the room was ok but was clearly not cleaned properly before our arrival.like I said no robes and no hair dryer Lexi to the rescue again ! The room carpet was filthy with a black patch of dirt.I would like to thank Janet and Lexi for helping to resolve the issues. But the management needs to do a risk assessment of the spa changing room.I wouldn't stay again but would recommend the restaurant food for a evening meal!"
"We liked the space that the apartment had and the location of the property. The apartment was very quiet and had all the amenities we needed including the kitchen area. We also liked the garden at the back of the property. We will book again when we come back to Ulverston."

"3 rd visit to sunny beck yes it could do with some tlc carpets could do with a clean well equipped place. But I would take everything you need to cook ie salt ,pepper, oil cooking foil washing up liquid , tea and coffee luckily because we had been before we packed everything as didn’t want to spend our time shopping the gardens are beautiful but who ever was in the cottage hadn’t cleaned up after there dog and there was used poo bags on the wall outside and dog poo on lawn would recommend a baby gate a bottom of stairs to stop dogs and children being able to climb up them"
