The cottage was ideal for our particular needs - a rather last minute booking - and very clean and well equipped throughout. It was beautifully warm, and the property is set deep in a very beautiful part of lovely Exmoor. Would highly recommend this cosy cottage for a couple and reasonably priced as well. "

"This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. "The whole place is spotless and really well run by kind and helpful staff who were very attentive the whole time. Being in an old building, the amenities were not the best, the room had a very sloped floor, which made me feel a little seasick! And the bed tilted because of this, I had to prop something under my mattress so that I didn’t roll out of bed in the night! I had a lovely bath but equally due to the slope it felt like the water would tip out if too full! My room was right next to the lift so I could hear that lots of times but it wasn’t too disturbing in the night with the sound of the fan which I switched on in the room. The dinner was absolutely delicious, I was really impressed, and 10% off for guests staying . Breakfast was not so good, the cooked breakfast was not very appealing (lumpy scrambled eggs, dry hard bacon) and the buffet breast options were very limited, but it didn’t dampen my stay too much. The staff were really so lovely. All in all, it is a lovely hotel and I’d probably return but might request a room that doesn’t slope/isn’t right next to the lift!!"
