The apartment is set in Lonttinen , Turku’s most characterful old wooden-house neighbourhood. The feeling here is quieter and more local than in the commercial centre: small streets, historic wooden 19th century buildings, modest courtyards, and a residential rhythm that gives the area its particular charm.



It is a good base for guests who want to stay somewhere with a real sense of place, not just close to the main sights. Raunistula and Lonttinen have a slightly tucked-away, lived-in atmosphere, while still keeping the city highly accessible. Turku city centre, the riverside, cafés, restaurants, shops, and cultural spots are all nearby, and the university area is also conveniently close.



This makes the location especially well suited for visiting academics, students, project workers, business travellers, and couples who want a calmer home base with quick access to the centre. You get the character of an older Turku neighbourhood without giving up the practical advantages of a central stay.



Walking & cycling: Very walkable central streets and bike lanes; many destinations under 20 minutes on foot. Bike rental and shared bikes are common in summer.

Public transport: Föli city buses cover Turku extensively; frequent stops and single-ticket integration cover buses (and upcoming tram network). Buses are suitable for local trips across the city and to suburbs.

Taxis & rideshares: Readily available; short city rides are inexpensive compared with longer transfers to airport or regional rail hubs.

Intercity: Long‑distance buses and VR trains serve Turku Bus Station and Turku Central Station in the city centre for regional and national connections.
