We had a nice time at Dar Ben-Gacem. It was well located and the service was great. Our room was very quiet and spacious. It was great to see something traditional. The breakfast on the last day was great, and we enjoyed the coffee and delicious fruit every morning and they are happy to give more of everything. There is a beautiful roof deck with an amazing view of the medina.
The downsides: the room gets very warm if the air conditioning was not running as there were only two very small windows for air. Other rooms appeared to have much better windows. There was only a tub in our room, which made taking showers difficult. The breakfast was bread, cheese, and fruit on two of our three days, which is a bit plain, but there were good eggs the last day. There may have been eggs for other days as well, but we did not ask so that may be our fault.
The room was clean but the floors are traditional so a bit dusty, and the rugs on the floor and around the bed are worn.
