"We just returned from a 3-night family Maine for a wedding. We found this home listing that seemed a nice fit for our family that included 6 adults and two small children. This home was perfect for our needs, especially with some of the play areas, yard, games, etc. for our two young grandchildren. The home was exactly as presented in the listing, very comfortable and clean with plenty of space for a relaxing getaway. Lindsey and Jason were very welcoming and proactive with communication to ensure we had instructions before arrival as well as checking in during our stay to ensure we had everything needed. We did not need anything additional as the home was stocked with amenities and appliances. This home seems perfect for any season as it had heat, AC, screened porched, nice patio, etc. This is September, mild weather so very nice but I am sure that enjoying Lindsey and Jason's home and its proximity to many beautiful lakes in the summer would be a great return visit."

"The Cottage was so clean ,and the beds were so comfortable. It's the small and compact but yet has lots of room. We loved our stay. We stayed off season ( which is what we wanted ) and the trees were beautiful .Quit are not far off the road but far enough not to hear the cars, and close enough to stores , restaurant's and the lake.Over all great experience and will look to rent here again ."

"Our family of 5 had a wonderful vacation here. House suited our needs perfectly, tastefully done and very well appointed. Fabulous views of the lake! Game room and fire pit were a bonus for our young adult children to enjoy! Host was very responsive with any questions that we had - we would love to come back again!"

"Before I address anything about our weeklong stay, I have to start with the unfortunate fact that we had 3 bat sightings in the house during the week we were there. We made the host aware. In hindsight, I suspect we should have left the house after one was first spotted flying around the hallway, but we didn't see them again until our last night there. I hope that the host has taken the expected measure to assure the house is now sealed up. If you see a bat in the house, you should leave and contact VRBO for advice.Other than that, the house was lovely. It has an old campy vibe with lots of great spaces for people to gather. We did puzzles on the screen porch, played ping pong and darts in the rec room, and spent a lot of time on the huge dock jumping into the lovely clear river. The water temperature was so much warmer than what we expected making it comfortable to swim all day.The kitchen was well stocked. The beds and lines were comfortable enough, but nothing luxurious. Since the house is right before the river lock, boats line up on the river next to the dock while they wait for the bridge and lock to open. There was a line most of the day on the weekend, but the weekdays were quieter. It didn't feel unsafe to swim since the boats were usually stationary while they waited. We really did love our time at the house. I think everyone learned a lot about bat safety from the experience."

"We just returned from a week stay and there were some pros and cons.Pros:The property management was extremely responsive. Lakefront- beautiful deck, dock and lots of water toys.Dog friendlyBasement was good for the kids- they loved the karaoke machine.Quiet neighborhood, but close to town and about an hour to Portland.Kitchen had everything you need to prep and cook meals.Great fire pitCons:Cobwebs (and spiders) EVERYWHERE. The house could use a good clean inside and out.Windows need replacing- some slam shut.Front (screen) door needs replacing.Sewage smell when on the deck- notified property manager who said they would look into it right away.Basement is not fit to sleep in- my kids wouldn't go near the bed on the floor.Sunroom needed a good clean and replace some of the old furniture.No screen door on the back door. Given there is no central AC, you can't leave the door open to get a cross breeze without letting in a ton of bugs.A lot of trash on the property- could use a good clean up.Expensive for the week, but I guess because it is waterfront."
