Beautiful location

Beautiful location - about a 5min boat taxi ride from the town.

Nice location, rustic. Questionable fee structured

There is both positive and negative to say about this place. On the positive side, staff is super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful and in a wonderful location, remote, quiet and in nature. If you are planning to go into tortuguero, you will need a 10-minute taxi boat each time. The food was decent but no choices provided, so could be an issue for allergies or picky eaters. There was no hot water, which is somewhat normal in this area. My main issue is that even though we rented a 4-person room, for three people, when I got the bill I found out that the price was based on one person and we had to pay extra for each additional person, resulting in an extra $90 a day on a $58 a day booking, which I find very unreasonable. I did try to fight this fee but with no success. So be warned, it is almost cheaper to rent three rooms, then to rent a single room with three people in it. While I like the place and would rent it again at $58 a night, there are many better options if the total runs up to $150 a night after the extra adult fees are added.
