"Staff were great. Restaurant had decent food including free breakfast. Location is excellent for Chinese market and water ferry, just a 1 minute walk. Other sites- 40 minute walk to synagogue and next to it is the Dutch palace. 25 minute walk for popular handwashing laundry- Dhobi Khana. Top bunk in the dorm room was a little too high for me, but slept well. Restaurant did not sell alcohol which is a shame, the hostel has a nice chilled vibe. "

You’re close to cafés, galleries, and the waterfront, but the villa itself stays peaceful and quiet. Villa Elixir is one of those places you’re genuinely happy you booked. "Friendly staff and a nice spacious room. An excellent location and the adjoining cafe was excellent with wonderful staff who were most engaging. However the building needed upgrading. Lots of minor things were worn or not working. My room was not cleaned in 4 days. The pool needed sweeping for leaves which I did. Small pool which felt abandoned but was a pleasure. It’s a nice hotel but really needs a lot of small improvements. "
