"Location, safety, little gas fireplace in the room, and complimentary breakfast are great. There is no thermostat in the room.... it was a chilly spring stay, which was OK with me, but might not suit others. Sparse amenities, but coffee machine and fridge. Sweet old-fashioned motor inn, nicely kept. "

"Check-in was smooth and efficient, which set a great tone for the rest of our visit. Location wise, the hotel was perfect & conveniently situated near key attractions and dining options. The walls are very thin so that would be my only complaint; we could hear the person next door snoring (lol) and their TV and the maids were really noisy in the morning chatting. Otherwise my family & pup enjoyed our stay - the grounds are gorgeous & we'd visit again!"

"We loved our stay at this property! Bill has created a thoughtfully designed and functional space filled with unique decor. The nautical interior added charm and made our time in Carmel especially memorable. We particularly enjoyed the reclining couch, which was perfect for unwinding.The outdoor garden area is exceptional—beautifully curated and a great place to relax. We also appreciated Bill’s local recommendations, though we found ourselves just as happy spending time enjoying the beautiful space he’s created. We hope to return!Tip: It is possible to walk to town but heads up that the main road is a bit busy!"

"Magnolia was a comfortable, clean and well stocked home for a getaway for 3 of us. It was handy to have a driveway for off street parking, and it was a quick drive to Ocean Ave. Because parking is difficult in downtown Carmel, it was very reasonable to Uber from the house."

"Our room was five flights up and we could not manage it physically so we were moved next door to the Tally Ho. Our room had a great deck and was very clean although dated and had a musty smell. Very well located. We were grateful for the option."
