Itinerary looking a little empty? Teshikaga vacation all organized but not sure what you're going to do when you arrive? Let us guide you.
There aren't too many things quite so humbling as being close to a volcano. At Mount Io you can see one of the planet's most dynamic natural phenomenon that's been millennia in the making. Adventurers in this destination have a great range of options. Even on a drizzly day, it's worthwhile meandering through Suigo Ryokuchi Park. Pop up your umbrella and enjoy the fresh earthy smell. Still got some time to spare? Watch water bubbling beneath a shroud of steam at Mashu Hot Spring. This geothermal phenomena, a result of heated water rising from the earth's crust, is undisputedly one of the area's hottest spots!
Locating a great place to stay is often crucial to the perfect cheap vacation or luxury getaway. With only 4 properties in Teshikaga, make sure you book as soon as you've locked in your dates.
Memanbetsu Airport (MMB) is the entry point for most people going on a trip to Teshikaga. It's situated 25 miles from the town center.
The onsen is excellent, the staff were friendly and very attentive especially the guy. My only concern was that the distance stated 1 minute walk from the station, no it is not, you have to take taxi or bus to the center
We had a nice stay. Beautiful lake. Onsen was perfect. A very quiet area with nothing around.
Good basic hostel. Nice staff, comfortable lounge area and lots of parking available. Close to masshu-ko. Not very noise proof against people walking in the corridors early in the morning/late at night
Friendly and amicable host. Clean room. Lots of amenities available. Onsen avail at level 1.
Spacious bedroom, and en suite washroom a big plus. We were given a room on ground floor, which had convenient access to all parts of hotel. Simple breakfast but adequate. Though it would have been good to vary the menu (we had basically same food on both mornings we were there). Limited free WIFI ...
The whole hotel is very dated. It seems like all they did was to renovate the lobby, so it looks new modern shiny, whereas the rooms are left in the 80s/90s era. We had one of the big rooms, with tatami and also a supposed double bed. The bed was not comfortable at all, and way too small for 2 persons. ...
Situated in Teshikaga, this guesthouse is 0.4 mi (0.6 km) from Akan Mashu National Park and within 6 mi (10 km) of Suigo Ryokuchi Park and Mashu Hot Spring. Kyumarumaru Sogen and Mashu Lake Observatory 1 are also within 12 mi (20 km).
This hotel is some kind too “old”. However, the Onsen’s quality is the best from our trip.
