"On a family road trip around NZ from Aus in July. Stayed one night and loved the place. Great sized cottage, beautifully set up and well maintained. The surrounds are stunning with a lovely garden and so many little birds. Our host took great care of us with pre-lit pot belly and basics in the kitchen to see us right. I highly recommend this stay, it’s along the way and well worth it. "

"The tiny home was perfectly fine, amenities were good, and the bunny watching from the window was very cute. However the email that arrived just prior to check-in that advised the use of earplugs to block the sound of traffic and trains…well it was good advice, but arrived a little too late. The perpetual falling of objects from the trees overhead onto the metal roof of the house all together with the train rumbling through and trucks thundering by, lead to a less than decent sleep. Lovely building

"It was a lovely room. Just the right size for our one night stay. We were annoyed that the electric blanket was incredibly hard to find and plug in to use. I broke my permanent bracelet trying to lift the whole mattress to get to the plug on both beds. The heater has 3 different places to make sure it is on (overkill), had to call the desk to get it working. Positives: it is a lovely old hotel with a quirky room system. A few stairs to conquer but also a small elevator. It is very central to everything. A lovely walk up amd down the road to find quaint shops and wonderful old buildings. The people were nice and the cleaning lady was especially perky in the morning. Everyone seemed.to be happy to work there. "

"Very accommodating manager. Couldn't do more to make us comfortable!! One criticism is the shower was tricky!! Hot water didn't come on easily. We eventually got it going after seeing the notice on the wall. The shower floor was very slippery, as the curtains didn't keep the outside dry, so quite dangerous when wet. I had to dry the floor leading to the toilet to prevent my husband, and myself, from slipping. Needs an air vent/ expel fan. The kitchen could benefit also from an expel fan. "
