Perfect weekend getaway!

5 stars isn’t enough stars to give Elken Retreat! All the special touches made this the perfect place to stay: Comfy-cozy room/ bed, hot tub after a long day of walking and shopping, a sweet treat each night, and the yummy breakfast each morning. We will definitely be back!

This was the best I’ve experienced period. The place was amazing. The bed was great and our suite had all we needed. The hosts are friendly and provided a beautiful experience. We woke up to the best French toast ever. Just overall a perfect stay!

It got pretty dark there...

We went to Texas for the eclipse 2024 and had a wonderful time at the retreat. Jennifer was super nice and even provided us with two pairs of eclipse glasses, as well as with delicious snacks in the morning. We watched the eclipse together with her and other guests. We got lucky with the cloud coverage and had an amazing time. Our room was at the back of the retreat. It was super cozy and extra quiet. We would absolutely stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay. I was very clean, decorated very cute and cozy, and a great atmosphere in the outdoor are. We live local but needed a great place to celebrate us. This was the place.

We’re absolutely glad that we decided to book this VRBO. So much better than a hotel ever could’ve been. The owners was super nice. The massage and breakfast was definitely an added touch to the stay. The room was really nice. I am normally very hesitant about holiness no matter where I stay, but I had absolutely no concerns with this venue. I would absolutely recommend someone to stay at Elkins retreat.

My husband and I chose Elken Retreat for our COVID19 delayed 25th anniversary getaway! We loved it!

Our stay was peaceful, relaxing, and refreshing. The owner's are very friendly and gifted at little touches that made us feel truly welcomed. They seem to think of everything. The property is definitely a cozy retreat from it all. Loved sitting out by the firepit and the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. We shall return!

Jason and Jennifer are the best property rental guests you could ever have!

Stayed two nights, showed up a little late Friday night and had a lil hard time finding room since we parked in wrong spot - but Jennifer responded right away - and after walking around a bit found it! Hot tub is great - breakfast and massages were a huge plus. Even homemade cookies randomly. Highly recommend.

My furies and I stayed for First Monday. Our room was so adorable! Bed was super comfy and room was stocked with everything you need. Jason and Jennifer are the sweetest! They brought hot cookies to the pool and s’mores at night! Make sure you ask to pet their precious golden doodles and have Jason share some jokes. Breakfast is also superb! Hope I can visit again soon!

Romantic getaway before picking our daughter from camp

We had a fantastic stay. We were picking up our daughter from Sky Ranch and booked the Elken Retreat the night before we picked her up for a quick romantic getaway and to be closer to camp for pick-up. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Jason and Jennifer put many personal touches into our stay. We had a welcome sign, a “happy pick up daughter day” sign at breakfast, and chocolates on our pillows at night. We had a nice soak in the hot tub while listening to music on the patio at night and a delicious breakfast in the morning-the homemade biscuits were our favorite! This was a perfect quick romantic getaway for us and we can’t wait to get back! Thank you Jason and Jennifer for a wonderful stay.

I absolutely loved everything about this property, my suite #5 was better than I imagined. Jennifer & Jason are the kindest people ever! Breakfast both mornings (prepared by Jason) was delicious especially the French Toast (my fav) and the coffee. I'm still laughing and sharing Jason's jokes. Their property is magical. Visit with the Turkeys, hens and other birds. It was fun finding & collecting feathers. I found angel wings in the tall tree. I visited several places that weekend. I recommend them all. The Forge Bar & Grill, Edom Log Cabin restaurant and a further drive out was Speakeasy Coffeehouse in Quitman. I was there to enjoy a friend's live music at some of these places but I found so much more joy in East TX and the ELKen Retreat was a huge part of that. Thank you! Love you guys!
