Cute Cabin
My husband and I stayed in the neighboring cabin before and liked it, so we booked again. This time we came with another couple, as the cabin sleeps up to five. From the photos, the bedroom layout was a little confusing. The upstairs has a large bed AND a small sofa that can sleep one additional person in the same room. Downstairs has a pull out couch that sleeps two, but when it’s pulled out there is no room to move around the downstairs area between the kitchen and bathroom.
The cabin is tight quarters for four adults, but perfect for a couple. Though the overall cleaning seemed pretty good, but there were a few minor things that could have been cleaned better. Someone squashed a mosquito on the wall and left it there. Coffee grounds/filter were still in the pot and there were no filters to be found. We found a long black hair on the toilet and a few more on the floor and water bottle cap in the window. Minor nitpicking, to be honest.
You will hear trains from this location, but that might just be Talkeetna in general. The mosquitos are plentiful in Talkeetna in late June, so you need to close the door quickly and bring repellent. These cabins are conveniently located in a small neighborhood just outside Talkeetna near an airstrip (but we didn’t hear planes). We had a moose just outside our door. The kitchen is well equipped (minus the coffee filters). All things said, I/we would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
