Overall Cleanliness could be improved. Bathroom always smells bad like sewage due to lots of mold near the toilet and in the shower. Wifi is weak, slow and spotty. Bed is very springy and soft so it was not the comfiest. Lots of shops around the hotel which made it convenient. I also liked that the hotel had good amenities.

The rooms were filled with foul smell, pillows with blood stains, floor mats with stains and shower rooms and corners were stuck with dust and spiderwebs. I have photos of the above mentioned and will post a Google and trip advisor review on this. Told one of the lady staff on the day we checked in that one of the pillow was stained with blood, BOTH sides. And I wanted a change of pillow please (should have asked for a change of hotel instead 😒) She mentioned the number of pillows for the hotel were fixed. (Meaning she wants me to take back the blood stained pillow?) when I refused and told her (nicely still) that please assist to change out this pillow, she looked at it and asked if this was actually already used (by me) as the outer cover looked dirty. I replied that I have only checked in today and I am still dressed in the same outfit that i wore during check in, and I have just returned back to the hotel and yet to shower and lie on the bed. And I replied (annoyed) if the outer was also stained and I have missed that out? She then quickly kept the pillow away and replied and will try to get a new pillow for me. Probably one of the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It should not even be a “hotel” in the first place. Only the location was worth mentioning. And to put it to shame that this was actually a chain hotel with a total of 5 different hotel relax nearby. And I thought hotel relax 1 will be original and more reputable. Ridiculously disappointing.

The hotel occupies two floors in the building (10th & 11th). The 11th floor rooms are just below the building's motor room. That means from morning till night (from around 7am to 11pm), you will be hearing to a motor generating sound. Just want to make sure this is made known to anyone who decides to book this hotel.

The service was normal but the hotel located in a very old building and the condition of the room seems very old & not clean as well, it also in a building with 3 other hotels and other businesses so it feel unsafe

For many years this is always the first choice hotel to stay for our Taiwan trip. After 3 years of lockdown, although some amenities is old but them have maintained it well that make your stay comfortable. We enjoy our stay.

Actually, Hotel Relax is just on same level as an Inn. NOT RECOMMENDABLE for the following reasons 1. Overrated reviews for a room that is of poor quality 2. Rooms' wall is thin so you can hear people talking or walking along corridors 3 poorly ventilated rooms, air inside smells bad. 4. Poor lightings, rooms are dim 5. Aircondition is not well and properly maintained 6 Molds in bathroom

Noisy thin wall room partition and moldy bathroom
Beware of false or inaccurate excellent reviews for this hotel, they give ballpen or small gifts to clients in exchange for excellent reviews. Television sound from next door can be heard. Room has strong foul smell Aircon is not functioning well Bathroom is gross with molds This hotel occupy 11 and 10th Floors other floors are eye clinic, cram school and review centers for students which make the 2 small elevators crowded have to wait long to get a ride. Not recommended to stay there are other hotels nearby worthy than this with the same location and better accommodations

Located at a very convenient spot. Room is clean and comfortable. The night we stayed, we were disturbed by loud laughters, probably from the lounge area at almost midnight.

The service by the counter staff is awesome. They are able to accede to all of our request. The hotel also provides the service where we can order most of the Taiwan famous souvenirs (food) via a simple order form. Just pay at the counter, and we collect our order at the counter within 24 hours, all nicely packed. Room is very clean, although the toilet bowl area will become very wet and slipper after shower. Location is very convenient. Well done! Hotel Relax!

Will not stay again
Very overly rated hotel. Cleanliness is lousy. Bathroom is mouldy and dirty. I suppose the black gold theme of the hotel is camouflage the mould n grime. Hotel breakfast has to walk across and the restaurant is basement level. You could tell that the kitchen staff and service staff are unhappy (they are not rude but you could feel the negative vibes) preparing and serving because the food are not appealing n appetising at all. Whole cafeteria has a musky smell. Booked executive family room but got cheated as only difference is bed size and slightly bigger room. Whole room has no difference with standard family room. No windows. The only only only thing to praise about this hotel is location. Easily accessible via metro (exit K12).

Good room and extra touches. Nice shower and facilities. Little wardrobe space but hangers provided above kettle. No window room was fine, room very soundproof as didn't hear other Staff very helpful and friendly. Great location near Taipei Main Station/HSR/mall (10-11th floor so can take time going up and down but not a problem).

Highly recommended in Taipei
The hotel itself was located in a shared building however the plus point is that it is on the top floor (10 & 11) The hotel staff was very friendly providing excellent service without requesting. She even provided a room upgrade which had additional bed, bigger room space and bar snacks. Other extra service that they provided was Taiwan souvenir delivered to hotel, i bought the pineapple cake. Location is very accessible. Near Aiport MRT, train and bus station. Lots of food and shopping near by walking distance. Will definitely recommend and stay again

Great location near Taipei Main Station. Calm, relaxed place to stay - very quiet despite the busy area! SLOW elevator though! And the breakfast has few Western options.

Pro: Overall nice hotel Con: Hotel Relax is located at the 10th and 11st floor of this property. The building is occupied by 9 different businesses. There are only 2 elevators and one of them has been out-of-service for more than 4 days now, which is inconvenient and caused long wait line at the building lobby.

Nice stay, but budget more time for the elevator
The room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location was very convenient. We like the hotel itself, but the entrance (Relax 1) was not so nice--we had to wait and ride the elevator through a bunch of business to get in and out, which often took a long time. The bathroom leaked a bit, and the AC was too cold, but we can't make adjustment (broken?)

You have to deposit $1000 NT first before you check in and is compulsory to do so if not they won't let you proceed. And the $1000 TWD won't be returning back, its like a waste of our money to do so. we paid everything for it before we step into the hotel but still need to pay extra money again before we stay. Hotel cleanliness is bad, the toilet is dirty and room is kind of dusty too. room type is not given as what i have seen in the pic/website, not recommend to stay in this hotel as there is still other better/cheap hotel out there in taipei.

Stayed at the family room of Hotel Relax 1 for 3 nights in June. Room is clean and spacious. Like that it has an automated bidet and its non carpeted. However would be good if they provide a wardrobe instead of only hangers above the minibar area. Staff is helpful but could do with more smiles. Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

The location close to main station was great for someone not knowing how to navigate Taipei. You do need to know that the hotel is on the 10-11 floor of a building that in ground floor has McDonalds. Otherwise would have missed

Very close to Taipei City Center, malls and MRT. We were staying at Relax 1 and for breakfast we had to go to Relax 2 ie it is not in the same building.

Perfect boutique hotel and great location.
Always stay in one of the Hotel Relax joints each time I am in Taipei. Relax 1 is still the best with the most spacious of rooms. Love the ambience in the hotel and rooms too - well kept and clean.
