First time in Syracuse and this hotel perfectly met our needs in terms of facilities and location. It’s expensive - especially for the sea view rooms, but they are very nice and the view is lovely from them. I would use this hotel again if staying in Syracuse.

Perfect hotel

Everything was amazing. So kind and helpful staff during the whole stay. The rooms were stunning and the view fantastic. Had dinner at the rooftop restaurant Clou, which can be highly recommend. Will definitely revisit this beautiful place

It was our second time visiting. A fantastic building, great view, roof-top swimming pool... Exceptional staff, perfectly balancing formality of a high-end hotel service and relaxed vacation atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to help us locate and retrieve our lost luggage on the way from the airport. They showed they truly cared.

Stepping into the hotel lobby was like stepping through a time travel portal. High ceilings, beautiful artwork, and gracious lines. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful with restaurant recommendations, tours, and directions. Breakfast was abundant and options for every kind of taste and diet.

It needs to be made clear that parking is not easy; you either put the car into a parking lot and walk back to the hotel or the hotel takes care of it for 50 euros a day. Second-the bathtub wall is very high and getting in for a shower or bath will be difficult for some. The breakfast is excellent; the staff very nice and beautiful room and if you have difficulty -that is a problem

Perfectly located with breathtaking views of the sea. Staff was excellent. Only issue we had was it took over 45 minutes to get our car from the valet parking and I almost missed my train in Siracusa because of it.

It was our best hotel experience in Sicily so far. The hotel is beautifully decorated with Art Deco style. I highly recommend a room with sea view because the sunset from the balcony is super romantic. The staff was lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious with both buffet and à la carte options (not included). We benefited from a free access to the spa (depends on the category of the room) and we really enjoyed the aromatic showers. The hotel is perfectly situated on Ortigia, so close to everything to visit. I would stay definitely here again!

The hotel was in a great location of Ortigia and the staff were very helpful. However, the hotel was not at a 5 star level. Management of the hotel and staff seemed to be lacking at times. Also, the room we booked did not appear to be the one assigned to us but they were able to resolve it.

This hotel is fantastic! The room was so clean, has in room tea facilities and quality toiletries. There’s many towels, slippers and dressing gowns. The breakfast buffet selection is vast and had quality items with gluten free and dairy free options. Cooked items are also available to order. Staff service was outstanding and they are incredibly helpful. The pool area and view are lovely. Great service at the pool too with towels already on the loungers and service to your lounger. The pool food menu is very limited however. The Clou restaurant serves delicious food and has a large wine list with roof top dining and lovely ambience. Parking is difficult as it’s a restricted zone but the hotel offer valet parking for €50 per night. Alternatively, we found €20 euro per night parking in the visitor bays at Porta marina which is 5 min walk from the hotel. Location is great however it is next to restaurant that has an outdoor terrace with very loud music until the early hours of the morning that can be heard if you are in the deluxe sea view room. Room service was efficient with quality food. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again!

The staff and particularly the pool staff were excellent. I booked a suite with a sea view. The suite was nice and view beautiful, but as a warning for my fellow travelers....I would never book this again. There are several nightclubs across the street (along the water) and they blast booming/thumping music till 1:30-2:30 AM. I was there Friday through Monday and it was every night, even Monday. If you like to party, great but if you want quiet at nighttime, try for another room. My friend didn't have a suite and she said she could still hear it. A shame, hotel was great otherwise.

Very nice city hotel. Hotel is well-situated for exploring Ortigia. Room, with a view of the water, was quite nice and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast buffet was as expected for a property of this caliber. Hotel is located within restricted zone, so it was possible to drive to hotel but then necessary to valet park (at 50 Euros/day). We also walked to the archeological park and museum in Siracusa although this was quite a ways. There is a rooftop outdoor lounge that has a view but seems too hot for afternoon use and a bit too cool for the evening during our late October visit. We highly recommended this hotel.

Beautiful Hotel with a great view of the ocean

The Grand Hotel des Estrangers is a beautiful hotel perfectly located in the Ortigia section of Syracuse. The building is beautiful and the renovations are very stylish. The breakfast was excellent and the rooftop bar and restaurant are quite nice. The staff is high professional and friendly. We had massages at their Spa which were top notch. The gym is adequate. Good luck if you need to change large euro bills for smaller denominations, we asked once or twice every day and were often unable to get it from the front desk. I know it’s not a bank but it’s a reasonable request.

Rooms were tiny and not well laid out

The room for 2 was so incredibly small , we could barely move around: The people working at the hotel were absolutely wonderful, helpful and friendly.. but logistically the room was so tiny and it was not laid out well at all. For the amount of money we were paying it simply was not worth it. We however very much liked the hotel personnel:
