They are trying, it’s an older hotel so keep that in mind. If you are looking for a place to sleep this is it but if you are looking for nice keep moving. It’s old and has a smell to it the beds are not comfortable especially if you are sleeping with someone every movement is felt. The pillows are flat all four you get on the bed are the same thin. You can tell they are trying to upgrade things, it’s a great location for where we were going to, it felt safe. Parking is easy, check in was easy, staff was friendly, I would stay again but only for the price I had it for anything more absolutely not.

Not clean. Floors were not clean, wiped up water with paper towel, it was dirty. Same for bathroom floor. The bathtub had lots of stains, showered with sandals on. Chair had white stains on upholstery.

There was no coffee pot in the room , the hair dryer stopped half way doing my hair . could not get tv to work . Went to the front desk and they told us what to do . Got it on , but could not get sound to work. next day they sent maintenance to fix it . Continental breakfast ? First morning there were no eggs and the coffee was so weak it was like dish water and had no taste what so ever . There was no orange juice , and the toaster was a two slice only . Had to wait in line to use it. There were a few bananas for fruit . None the day before . Was talking to one of the other guests , and he said the day we arrived , there were no sausages for breakfast .Also there were no complementary shampoo , conditioner or body lotion like all the hotels I ever stayed at , which is a lot . There was a microwave , a sink and cupboards ,but no dishes or cutlery . The door stuck , so i had to pull it very hard in order to close it . Went to front desk to ask where the ice machine was , and they said there was none , they did get me some from the kitchen in the dirty ice bucket , which did not even have a plastic bag inside . While at the front desk , there were three other guests there with complaints . One had no towel. one guest had a faulty tv There were no table napkins at breakfast . Only a box tissues at a few of the tables , most of them empty . Salt and pepper was also scarce . Needless to say I would not recommend tis hotel to anyone or stay there again .

The view was very good, but because of the outside wall that was between the room and the outside you really didn't get to enjoy it from the room. The room was very dated. The doors had both been forced open at some point and the frames were broken. As such the wind would blow in threw. There was new heat pumps installed but because of the doors and the ceramic floors in the room, you couldn't get the room warm.

The hotel clean and well kept but many amenities such as the vending machines, the ice machine, the atm, and the laundry room all were out of service or required maintenance. And there’s no elevator so it’s not very accessible. It was a quiet stay but not very comfortable.

Beer stains on wall. Coat rack with no hooks or hangers. Was an empty beer bottle containing brown stuff on flloor by foot of bed used as a bug trap, I think. There were enough towels and tub and toilet were clean. Hallway and room had a weird smell. People at front desk were pleasant and polite. Will not stay at this hotel again.

The sheets had stains all over them, we left and did not stay the night. Not worth the 250$ we had to pay. Very dissatisfied that Expedia would even offer this place. We booked again with Expedia at Simon’s much nicer and only 170$.

This place should be condemned, I've stayed in some rough places before but this place is the worst. It was so bad we took a look at the room and then just left and stayed at a different hotel. They wouldn't refund our money so we just took a loss and considered ourselves lucky we never stuck it out and contracted a communicable disease, It's that bad. I could go into detail about our room but just trust me and spend your money someplace else, they are not cheap rooms either so if you are hard up try a dumpster it will be cleaner and cozier.

They put me in a basement unit which had weird little flys all night everywhere Then they put a teenage hockey team directly above me on the main floor who kept me up till 5am .. asked the manager to deal with it Twice and the noise stoll continued.. went to the front desk he said maybe i should go deal with the problem. I was very upset and dissapointed with that comment from the manager a d not getting any sleep. I asked for my .oney back and they said i would have to contact someone else...run around bullcrap Ill never stay there again

We asked to be moved from the first assigned room. It didn’t feel safe, with easy access from outside Towels were thin. No blanket on bed, just a bedspread. No shampoo. Tv remote didn’t work. Phone in room didn’t work. And no coffee maker. Expected a full service restaurant, but could only get fries and wings, which were very good. The free breakfast didn’t have a lot of options but was hot and good.

The bath tub was unbelievably dirty. There was clumps of hair under the heat register in the bathroom. There were only 2 outlets for electric use. There were no mirrors in the room except for the one over the sink in the bath room. The breakfast was limited and it was cold. . It did have a nice view of the harbour.

It left a lot to be desired. We are booked to spend 2 more nights here and if it was not too late to cancel I would. The room did not smell fresh, there was not a stopper in the sink, there was not a proper place to hang your coat, the breakfast was the worst yet during our 2 weeks of traveling in Nova Scotia. They said there was a restaurant and the entire menu consisted of chicken wings and fries. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Tired but trying Hotel/Casino
The staff was kind and friendly. The hotel/casino is very worn and did not have a proper restaurant as advertised. Our room was “updated” but poorly done. The hallway to our room was very nicely done on the second floor. We did sleep comfortably, which is why we were there. A hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes was provided, which was nice. This hotel also takes a $250.00 deposit which we felt was excessive. It was returned on our card at check out.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
This property needs some work on it. Water damage very visable in our room. Not even a water glass in room. Extreme extra deposit of $250.00 per night, we stayed at Keltic lodge the night before and no extra deposit required with Expedia booking. Dirty utensils and dishes with complimentary breakfast which was lacking. Would never stay here again.

This property needs some work. Wavy walls and ceilings from water damage. Small room no place to put suitcases only on the floor. No amenities in the room not even one glass for water etc. there was a tv. Would not book here again for the price they are asking.

Room was dated but comfortable. Great location. Harbourview Inn overall looks a bit tired, bar area needs some work. Overall I give it a 5 out of 10.
