Introducing `Christmas Castaway` - where the spirit of adventure meets the tranquility of the Lake of the Ozarks. Nestled in the wooded cove of a charming lakeside neighborhood near popular restaurants & attractions, these rustic cabins have stood as beacons of lakeside charm for generations.

Guests have access to the full property, the community fire pit area, and the boat slip, boat launch, and public dock area.
Steep hill walking to private boat dock, parking available if you prefer to drive to dock. Lightly wooded and rocky property terrain. Pets are required to be leashed and controlled at all times on community property.

Wooded area complete with wildlife! You could encounter deer, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, skunks, bugs, spiders, wasps, mosquitos, snakes, lizards, etc. This is all part of `lake life`, and while we do our best to keep unwanted pests away the occasional unwanted visitor may intrude on your stay.

While the location is wooded and somewhat remote you will be surrounded by neighboring cabins and residences occupied by other vacationers and full time residents and their pets.

The cabin is less than 3 hours from Kansas City and St. Louis and less than a 1/2 day from Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Kansas. Major highways lead to the lake with blacktop roads up to the entry of the neighborhood. Neighborhood roads are gravel.

Some `House Rules` to note:

NO SMOKING or VAPING: This is a smoke free property, including inside the property, deck & hot tub.

PETS: Pets are welcome, 1-2 dogs are allowed. Pet fee of $50 per stay does apply. NO PIT BULL BREEDS, no cats or other animals without prior permission from host.

NO TRAILER, RV, or OVERSIZED VEHICLE PARKING is allowed along the road or driveway to this property. Neighborhood road is narrow with tight turns restricting trailer, RV and oversized vehicle parking. There are designated parking areas for such vehicles within walking distance and within the neighborhood boundaries-please check with hostess if you plan to bring a boat, trailer, RV or other oversized vehicle.
Check-in 4PM Check-out 10 AM No early check-ins or late check-outs unless agreed upon in advance with your host. Important House Rules: 1. No smoking or vaping allowed in the condo or on the decks. 2. Quiet hours are from 10PM-8AM 3. No parties. 4. Pets must be leashed at all times when outside on Southwood Shores property. Please clean up after pets, bag stations provided. Check-out instructions: RELAX you`re on vacation!!! Please treat our cabin like your own home when you leave and close windows and doors and lock up. Set the thermostat to LOW heat in cold months or LOW cool in warm months (do not turn off) and take out trash to the dumpster behind and adjacent to the cabin. That`s it, our cleaners will take care of the rest, no need to make the bed but they would be grateful cleaned any dirty dishes and left in to dry in the dish rack. Thank you for keeping our cabin safe and clean!
PETS: No more than 2 dogs permitted. A pet fee of $50 per stay will be applied to your reservation. You MUST register your pet guests with the host prior to check-in, failure to notify host of pet guests will result in $150 fine.
