Sunrise Beach

Walked into the room and was hit with the smell of strong cleaners/bleach and the floor still damp - glad to know it was clean, but it gave me a headache. Later in the evening, the smoke detector started making a high pitched low-battery beep about every 45 seconds. Took the battery out and it kept happening. Called the front desk on both the room phone and my cell and no answer. I went up to the office and stood at the after hours window, pressing the button, but the lady working inside was vacuuming and talking to on her cell phone and couldn’t hear me. I had to bang on the glass and wave my arms to get her attention, just for her to not know what to do about the smoke detector. She suggested removing it myself from the ceiling. I eventually finagled with it enough to get it to stop. Later, I realized I needed an extra towel, and would have liked another blanket with how paper thin the blanket on the bed was, but with the hassle I had trying to get help before, I didn’t bother. Don’t expect amenities like a coffee maker or even shampoo in the room either- just a bar of hand soap. Also, even if you pre-pay for the room, once you arrive they charge you a fee that will eventually be refunded back into your account within *7-10 business days* to make sure you check out on time. A bit ridiculous for a Motel 6. I’m not expecting anything fancy from a Motel 6, but it had to be one of the most disappointing I’ve been to.

Great, clean place to stay for a very reasonable price. Location is excellent as well. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. We were even able to walk to Pike Place Market. Would stay again!

The apartment was spacious but lacking in comfort. There was also no kettle or toaster in the kitchen or extra bedding available.
