Absolutely loved this cottage! Beautifully decorated and highly functional. Had everything my family of 6 needed and more including: beach chairs, umbrella, Bluetooth speakers, all the puzzles and games you could want, comfortable beds, a/c on both levels, owners even left us spices, cooking oil, and coffee!
Will definitely return! 👍
Modern secluded rental. Perfect for escape from the hectic city life. Cottage was modern and clean with a/c, cable tv and wifi. Access road could be a little daunting but worth the effort. Overall a very satisfying experience.
The property was clean and had a well stocked kitchen for self catering. The bedding and towels were clean and new. The property was quiet, but only a few minutes' drive to the busy Cavendish area. The laneway into the property could be quite rough in a heavy rainfall, but an SUV can navigate it well; a smaller vehicle may have difficulty in the laneway. We stayed in September during the after effects of a hurricane and found the property to be well protected and safe. The property managers are pleasant and respond well to communications. We would definitely stay here again.
Positive experience staying in hope river. All amenities that you need are available. Beautiful patio overlooking the river. Would have liked to have been able to check in earlier than 4 pm but they did not accommodate that. Tight winding staircase in the house and the long dirt road ( that is in poor condition) to access the house were the only negatives of the property. The host were quick to respond when inquiries were made. Large yard and fireplace in back yard were a bonus.
This home is new and beautifully appointed.
There was room for a large family as there are 3 bedrooms and one bunk room. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there.
The yard is large and private,
My only issue is that the staircase going from the entree floor to the main floor is a tightly wound spiral that is actually dangerous as there is no room for your foot on the tread on the way down.
It should be noted in the description that anyone with a mobility issue should not rent here. I was forced to use the outside stairway which was fine because the weather was good but would not have been useful if it was raining.
Stayed a week with my husband, my parents and my sister and her husband. This property was absolutely lovely! Very centralized for lots of touristy things. It was VERY clean! Downsides for us were small but included…not enough bowls for our soup night, wish there had been mirrors and trash cans in each room, the front downstairs room (bunk bed room) had a very thin mattress. Two adults had a very uncomfortable nights sleep. A thicker mattress would have been better. The spiral staircase was a bit narrower than anticipated. It was a struggle for our elderly parents. Also, the mile long dirt road in is VERY rough. Sports cars or lower cars would absolutely not do well. Part of the road was completely washed out and if you accidentally put your car in it major damage would happen. Over all it was an absolutely lovely property. Very quiet and rural. We’d definitely stay again.
We loved this house with the exception of the spiral staircase. We are all very active in shape people but that staircase was very tiny and carrying a cup of tea or anything for that matter down those stairs was very difficult. We had to use the outside stairs to carry luggage in.
I want to warn guests the road getting to the house is very difficult. I read this on a review and thought the people must be exaggerating. We have an all wheel drive Trailblazer and it was tough. When we arrived it was raining and there were huge gullies (puddles) we had to go through. We thankfully did not get stuck. The road (not driveway as I thought) was very long. We would go out for the day so as not to have to go back and forth on that road. My car was so caked in red clay mud when we left even the car wash at home didn't help. We had to hand scrub too.
The water view was a bit obstructed by trees and they also were using it for Oyster beds. So don't plan to kayak. Still a pretty view from the house. Lots of spiders on the deck so we didn't really go out there.
We gave out girls the two upstairs bedrooms. We stayed down stairs in the Master and the mattress was horrible! My back and hip hurt all week. It really needs to be replaced. It felt like a futon mattress. No give.
As far as the island went there was plenty to do even though everything that I preplanned was closed when we got there because it was after Labor Day. We still had a lot of fun and the beaches are SO beautiful!
The house was the perfect size but the spiral staircase is narrow and awkward. We mostly used the outside stairway . The location was central enough for what we wanted to do but far from the tourist crowds. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had a fabulous stay and this was the perfect spot for our family. Minutes to many attractions and beaches, but quiet for when we needed to get away from it all. Would recommend!
We rented this place as a group of 4 for golf. Close to a lot of golf course which was nice and house was very clean. Everything was there that we needed. Would definitely stay again
The house was clean and well stocked. We stayed with our friends, between us we had 5 kids and 4 adults. Everyone fit well no problem. Our favorite part about the house is how centrally located it is. Everything we wanted to see and be near was a short drive. We even spent some time in Charlottetown no problem. The dirt road to get to the house is no problem at all. It's smooth and easy. Overall, highly recommended!
Pictures are real, beautiful place to stay. Road is a little rough to get here, but worth it.
Sadly someone has smoked in the residence, and it is undeniable. Its a non smoking place and it kinda filtered into our luggage and clothing. I am sensitive to the smell, and its too bad someone could not respect the property.
House was beautiful and well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were large and clean. Only issue with the house was the spiral staircase, as the only way between floors inside the house. Spiral staircase was difficult for our elderly mother and would not be good for young children. Only other option is the exterior stairs but that requires you to go outside in the elements.
New and sparkling clean with comfortable furnishings and many board games that kids and adults loved for rainy days. Enjoyed making s'mores at the outdoor fire pit and star gazing on the deck. Since it is new, needs a few finishing touches, like securing the dishwasher. Also lacks pantry space. Steep steps to deck and spiral staircase make this unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Overall we enjoyed our week in this lovely home.
We booked during the winter, which was an easy decision since cancelation with full refund was available until June. The host responded quickly to any questions we had prior to going to the property. Directions to the property were precise, especially after requesting further details. Access to property was easy. Pretty much everything we needed was there since we were preparing many of our own meals. Being frank, those with mobility issues should contact the host upon booking. Bottom line is that we would certainly go again.
Overall the house worked out perfect for our guests. House and property were lovely and decorated beautifully. House is down a long dirt road that has major ruts so be careful on your drive into the house. House did not have any "rule book" so it was tough to understand how to proceed. No wifi password was given so we found the router and the password. NO directions for A/C or heat and no starts for personal hygiene. No hair dryer, no spices or condiments so be prepared to start from scratch and bring along the staples. ONce we got into the groove the house proved perfect. Great fire pit (again no logs so bring in your own wood). Bring in cushions from outside as it does rain. Would stay here again
