Overall, our stay was nice. The space is nice and the pictures are accurate. The location right on Sapphire Beach is great. Overall, communication with the owner was ok, until the end.
The largest problem was the power outages, which are not mentioned in the ad. Unknown to me, the island has had problems with blackouts since April 2024, meaningful this was not a new problem The power was out for the better part of 3 days out of the 7 days we were there. I feel the owners have an ethical duty to let people know about the power outages so people can make an informed decision. There are people that have medical devices or have to have reliable wifi access.
There was a mildew smell in the condo and turns out there was a hole in the wall between the toilet and the shower. The shower head was leaking in the wall.
So the owners told me that they would like to offer us a free week next year due to all the troubles we had. I thought that was great. We'll, after we leave and get home, the landlord states the cleaner said, among other things, that there P0were three pounds of sand in the condo. THREE pounds! The amount of sand in the unit was minimal. Also was accused of leaving food all over the floor. I cleaned everything thoroughly and picked up before we left.
There's a seaweed collection business here that uses back holes which really damage the parking lot and detract from the overall appeal. Also, there's no designated parking. We oftenh had to park 3 buildings down.
