Our experience with Charles was terrible. First off, I refer our future guests to our previous 52 PERFECT 5/5 reviews. His review dropped us to a 4.92 rating. Charles was our first negative review. I guess we were bound to get a bad apple eventually. From the get go there were issues with Charles. He booked our home then cancelled a few days prior to arrival. I confirmed his cancellation and he stated he never cancelled and it was a mistake and to please rebook him. We then reinstated his reservation. He arrived and sent us a nice note that all was perfect! (We are happy to provide proof. )The next day he sent us another note that he was not happy about our ac cools to a lowest temp of 71. I explained to him it is in the listing and redirected him there. He then did not like our second bedroom . I explained to him I was confused as his listing stated only one person. Why would one person stay in a guest bedroom?? Charles lied about number of people in reservation. This upset us about not disclosing correct guest count. I reminded him that he could use the master bedroom or if he was still not happy use the couch that pulls out into a queen bed or if he is still not happy to use the blowup mattress. Or use one of 5 fans. I even offered to cancel his reservation and refund him any days not used! The statement about fans not working is incorrect. The condo has three ceiling fans and 2 large floor fans. They all work. We take a video prior to each check in that proves this is false. I reminded him of this. He stated that he didn’t want to use them because of his dry eye. The master bedroom, guest bedroom, living room all have fans and each bedroom has a large floor fan that can be used for extra circulation. We even offered him a free day!! I even went the extra mile and found another condominium in the complex that was available to move him to immediately that was not our listing. He declined. (probably because it was more expensive and third floor). You would think that if you were so unhappy you would take the cancellation and move on to another apartment!! I don’t know how else we could’ve been more accommodating honestly? Also the statement about the ac mode does change and is also false. Like all ACs our ranges from cooling auto, fan only and heat. - In hindsight we should’ve just let the initial cancellation go that he made by mistake and not rebook him. Future hosts beware. He is an elderly gentleman who is quite unreasonable and maybe not sane.
