The extra pool was awesome nobody else used it while we were there. The kids were a bit upset we couldn’t bike to the ice cream shop. Our trip to SG this time around was pretty disastrous. Outside of the our late check in and having maintenance guy to hang out with for most of our first day there (the back slide door didn’t open) there was a tornado so we had to pack up on day 2. It was all a bit exhausting. Not all of it was on the property management but the trip was painful.

Best location in the Plantation!!

Island Rhythm is THE HOUSE to stay in @ St. George Island Plantation. Killer forever views from every bedroom, living and kitchen areas. Wonderful clean and spacious home and impeccable location. Can hardly wait to return!!!!!

Perfect family getaway

The location of the house was perfection. We rented bikes through the house credits and enjoyed riding them around The Plantation. There were a bunch of steps but totally worth the workout! The lower floor was perfect for two families with small kids to have space and grandparents could use the middle level. The older kid loved the top floor as his getaway. The dining room area has views to die for. We could watch the dolphins in the ocean from inside.

changed property management

We rented and paid through VRBO but the property was no longer listed with VRBO when we arrived. Slow contact to get in to unit. The names of all guests were not provided to the guard shack at the community entrance. The new manager had all our information but did not provide it to the guard. . The guard was decent and let us in but I had to contact the new manager and resubmit the names. I called the new manager on the drive down to get more details and no one called back until the next day. When we arrived the air conditioner on the upper level was leaking water on the stairs creating an extreme hazard. There was a towel on the steps to soak up the water. When I called they said they weren't aware of the problem, which I thought was odd because there was a towel there. They sent their crew and had to come back to repair the A/C. There were other problems during our stay and maintenance had to come several times to fix things. Of course I had to stay in the house when the repairs were made while everyone else was on the beach. I am still waiting on my damage deposit to be refunded and I do not know who will send it. I have sent a message.

Good and Bad

Nice home. Plenty of dishes and utensils. Lacking in dish cloths and dish towels. No beach chairs or umbrellas. Large roaches invaded at night, we stored all food in oven, microwave and fridge. Air conditioner went out overnight on Tuesday evening. We contacted our host Wednesday morning. Repairman showed up Wednesday evening around 7:30pm. Had to get a part, came back Thursday evening around 8:30pm. Air back on around 10:30pm. Mouse droppings (or something that looked like them) found one morning on bedding. After checkout we were informed that the sofa bed was damaged and a drain was clogged by aluminum foil. I explained that the sofa was damaged when we checked in, but used the bed anyway. I should have contacted the host then but didn't. The clog was not done by us. We didn't have any aluminum foil on the premises at all during our stay. The drains were working fine when we left. This was explained to our host, to no avail. The spindle on the stair was damaged by our 7 year old granddaughter. She said the spindle was weak. Which leads me to believe it could have been broken previously and inadequately repaired, especially since the above allegations regarding the bed and clog are false. Finally, we were told the house was left in total disarray. This is also false. There was a spill in the fridge that we failed to clean up before we had to depart, but overall the home was left in a condition one would expect for a week long stay.

Secluded. Exactly what we like. Be sure you bring the proper bug spray for the outdoors. Small flies called "no see ums" are brutal.

Easy to get in the Rhythm

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Weather was great. House was really great-superbly well equipped kitchen. About those much maligned stairs-yes, there are a lot of stairs-to be expected in a house built on pilings. We are able bodied older adults and viewed the stairs as assets to increasing our physically activity and our reward was the incredible view of the gulf over the sand dunes. Stephanie is a terrific property manager-responded right away each time. Minor suggestion to property owners-put some hooks (for hats, coats, leashes) and a shoe tray near the main entrance-to cut down on clutter near the door. Best wishes for wonderful memories to everyone else who stays here!

Very Nice, Georgeous View

We really enjoyed this spacious house and beautiful location, especially the dining room with windows and view on three sides and the uppermost bedroom with light streaming in. Everything was clean and in order. We are relatively short people, though, and the beds were awkwardly high. Maybe the house was designed by tall people?

Perfect Vacation

We had a wonderful week long vacation. The house was very well appointed and the location was perfect. My only complaint was the there were no wine glasses. There were plastic wine "glasses" but they don't clean well and looked unclean. Luckily I had read about the lack of wine glasses so I brought my own. Besides that, everything else was perfect.

Sibling Beach Trip

For 35 years my siblings and I get together for a week preferably at the beach. We enjoy walks on the beach and just reading and relaxing on the beach. Even though the red tide kept us inside the majority of our week beach visit, we enjoyed time together and especially the wonderful ocean views from the spacious dining room and family room. The kitchen was well-stocked and there was plenty of room for our small group of 6 adults to cook, eat and play card and board games together.

St. George Isn't what it's cracked up to be

We had never been to St. George Island before. We decided to go on the recommendation of good friends. The house we rented was in the Plantation right on the beach. What we didn't know was the beach is very narrow and pretty steep so there's not a lot of room to walk, exercise, take the dogs out, and just relax. In addition, the "Red Tide" was out and we could not even sit on the deck as the smell was so bad and the Red Tide also hurt everyone's lungs to breath. The house was okay at best as it was not what it was advertised to be. For example, there were two, yes only two dish towels for the kitchen, no brush to help with dirty dishes, very little soap to use, the hot tub did not work, and overall the house was not clean. There were roaches every where. I do mean every where. They were climbing up and down the walls in broad day light. Would we do this again. No. We'll go back to the South Carolina beach where we've been going for many years.

Island Rhythm is AWESOME!

We loved the location (private, quiet, not to far into Plantation). The house was completely renovated, very nice furnishings and the views of the beach from every room on every floor were amazing!

7 senior women enjoyed our stay despite 4 rainy days! Well stocked kitchen. Loved the DR view!! A few general comments and access/safety issues for our particular group but didn't require/request assistance during stay due to Covid: Glass front door is difficult to open (sticky), requires a push. Interior stairs are without handrails. Warped board in first level floor walkway. Missing bulbs in 2 nightstand lamps; no night lights; only one nightstand on 2nd level. All beds are higher than average (@34”?), luckily one member brought a step stool. Bathtubs without safety strips/mats or grab bars. Minimal bath linens, requiring more steps to launder; (no extra pillows, blankets or bedding for sleeper sofa). Toilets are not chair height. 2nd level street side large bathroom windows are uncovered. Be prepared for multiple stairs/steps (into house, within house, to beach). Other: garbage can needs sanitizing; removed dead mouse near water heater; suspect hot tub has leak; some instructions re DVD player/lights/fans/3rd level AC unit would have been helpful; garbage pickup instructions--to curb or not?? Is there no recycling on St George?!?

Great stay !

We really enjoyed our stay at Island Rhythm. Stephanie was great with quickly taking care of any issues that we had. Gorgeous location on private beach. Only suggestion would be some maintenance on entry and sliding doors. We will definitely return !

Happy Week at the Beach

This house far exceeded our expectations, making for a happy week at the beach for our entire family. The ocean views are spectacular from every room, the neighborhood quiet, the property private, and the kitchen well appointed. There was plenty of room for everyone including our pups. We appreciated the hot tub on rainy days and enjoyed daily dolphin sightings on the private beach all week. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Annual Family Vacation

We had 11 of us vacationing, 6 adults and 5 boys 9-11. The easy access to the beach was the best. There were numerous turtle nests right in front of the property and along the coast. On Tuesdays go to Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve for their turtle talk. Very educational and our little guys learned so much about protecting turtles and their environment. We also went on a airboat tour with Apalachicola Gone Country Airboat Excursions which was a lot of fun. We rented bicycles for everyone from Island Adventures who were great in working with us when one of our little guys went from training wheels to a regular bike. There are bike trails allover the place and is safe activity for the entire family. FYI - Little guys are required to wear helmets. The property was overall great. The kitchen even had a cheese shredder. The views were beautiful inside and outside but if it's raining though there is only one small area that you can be outside on the lower deck without getting wet. Not a big deal but still. There are no hair dryers so bring your own if you want to hit your bangs before going out and you might want to bring some extra tp. I would diffidently recommend this property.
