We loved how close we were to South Lake Tahoe, however there were several things that were unexpected.
1. After messaging the host for check-in instructions and getting not response for 3hrs, we called 2 hrs prior to check-in, then head to call again 15 mins to check-in and finally got our choice 10mins after check-in.
2. The dishwasher was completely full when we arrived, so we had to empty ourselves
3. There was no Wi-Fi network - we resorted to using our mobile hotspot to watch TV and send emails. *Host said the router was unplugged, yet another thing the cleaners should have checked
4. The quality of linens and furniture was below average & felt as it was furnished on a shoe string budget (not expected for the rates)
5.. Although a video game device was provided, the kids couldn't play because the only game/disk was so scratched out didn't work.
We only booked for 2 nights and did enjoy the location and hot tub. This could be a great property with a little TLC from the host. Our suspicion is it's a remote investor that has never been to the house and paying a property management company to do a sub par job.
