The Bungalows by Homestead Modern at The Joshua Tree Retreat Center

10/10 Excellent

"The grounds are a little quirky but lovely and fun to explore. The bungalows were designed by Lloyd Wright (son of Frank Lloyd Wright). I enjoyed staying in them and would do so again. They are clean and well appointed and in close proximity to Joshua Tree National Park. I enjoyed early morning sunrises surrounded by beautifully grounds along with a visit from a friendly and curious roadrunner. Definitely recommend!"

Invisible House | Desert Icon w/ Indoor Pool

10/10 Excellent

"The Invisible House was one of the most unforgettable places we have ever stayed. The mirrored exterior reflecting the desert, mountains, sky, and changing light is even more incredible in person than in photos. We spent so much time simply exploring the house and property because every angle felt special. Sunrise, golden hour, sunset, and the stars at night each gave the property a completely different feel. The house itself is modern, spacious, unique, and still incredibly comfortable for relaxing as a family. One of our favorite parts of the stay was just being there — swimming, spending time outside, taking pictures, and enjoying how peaceful and private the property feels. It was also the perfect location for visiting Joshua Tree National Park while still feeling like a destination all on its own.We intentionally made sure we had enough time to enjoy the house rather than treating it as just a place to sleep, and I am so glad we did. It was absolutely a highlight of our California trip.Definitely a splurge, but worth it for the experience, the memories, and the uniqueness. Five stars without hesitation."

Joshua Tree Retreat, Private pool, Garden and Cave-inspired-Private Estate

10/10 Excellent

"Such a unique and fun property! You can spends endless hours scrambling on the boulders, exploring, and enjoying time with your group that you truly would not need to leave. However, the proximity to 29 Palms, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, various art installations, and either the North or West entrance to Joshua Tree NP make you want to leave to take it all in. You’ll want to spend as much time as your schedule allows."

A desert sanctuary in Wondervalley to stargaze and escape the city

10/10 Excellent

"Initially was a bit surprised by the unpaved dirt roads getting there, but couldn’t have been happier settling in. The home is very remote and quiet. It’s a bit of a drive into town, but totally worth it! We didn’t want to leave much anyway. The location was easy to find with Google maps (even late at night) and the check-in process was straightforward. The space was neat, clean and organized. Plenty of games to pass the time indoors in the AC and lots of beautiful spaces outdoors to enjoy. The jacuzzi was easy to use and clean. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pans, and the freezer even had ice for us. Coffee was also available (thank you!). Bathroom had fresh towels and soap for us.There was only a little bit of light pollution so the stars were incredibly bright while we were there during a new moon. An absolutely dreamy view while in the jacuzzi. We didn’t use it, but there was a cozy fire-pit in back as well, and a hammock. It rained a decent amount while we were there and the main roads were closed temporarily due to flooding. The unpaved roads were okay to traverse in our Subaru, but be prepared if you have a car lower to the ground. We saw someone get stuck in the muck after the rain. But, the lovely Host was very helpful providing info about how to navigate our way. TLDR; would totally stay here again! The private jacuzzi out under the stars was well worth the trek. Thank you, Juanita! "
