Overall impression - run-down, dated, in disrepair. Many rooms clearly out of service. Looks like the owners and their family were living there too. When we arrived, we were told that our room got screwed up and we would get a single king instead of two double beds, which wouldn't work for a couple and teen son. I asked if they had a cot, and they said maybe, will have to check. I asked if they had extra rooms, and the person said it was fully booked despite the "vacant" sign, and then charged my credit card. Luckily their spare cot was available though they only provided sheets.
Turns out our room was in the "Glacier Gateway Plaza" across the street, not the "Glacier Gateway Inn" property which looked slightly less rundown (both owned by same people, with check-in and staff at the Inn side). Entrance was a bit strange and lobby looked like it hadn't been updated since the 1970s with old carpet and strange decor. In the room, found shaved hairs on sink and someone's leftover meal in the fridge, otherwise room clean. Outside was littered with cigarette butts and trash, but were able to find long unmowed patches of grass for dogs. At least it was quiet, didn't seem to be anyone else in this part of the property. Breakfast was very limited, and had to cross the street to get to it.
Overall it was pretty inexpensive at $80 for the night, so you get what you pay for. The owners should consider renovation to attract more customers and increase room rate.
